Theo Ratliff makes $10.9 mil this season. How much more will he make as a free agent? Who do we have to trade/cut to make room for him, and how many members of the Suns dance team do we have to send to his room to convince him Phoenix is a nice place to play basketball?

I forgot to add the restricted free agents from the Draft Class of 2001 to the list. That list includes such studs as Richard Jefferson, Pau Gasol, and Tony Parker. Most of these guys will get extensions and won't be on the market.

Add Dalembert to that restricted list. Phili has plenty of big long term contracts and may not want to match a huge offer sheet. I'm not sure if they care about the luxury tax or not.

Why not just waite till next year to get Theo Ratliff? Don't give Portland any assest and just see if we can woo him away from the thugs in Portland. If we move Howard we will have more than enough space for him.

Because I believe JJ's extension (if we do offer him one) will probably eat all that up. Besides, it'll be pretty hard to move Eisley in such a way that it creates capspace for us, even with the Chicago pick.

ratliff and bobby jackson are the only ones that excite me. dalembert as a rfa would be nice. but jj's gonna eat all remaining cap space we may have, so the point is moot. and we end up w/ nash, lampe, eisley's contract and cash in return for all the assets we gave up this year. yay.

sorry, but the pessimism about the clips matching is setting in. this offseasons' rollercoaster, while exciting, is throwing me for serious mood swings.

That was my point.
