Might as well start wasting time sooner than later. Go at it fellas!
The Suns are really hoping to draft this in '08.

Don't count on the ATL pick being there for the Suns. That will be required to dump KT, Banks or Diaw.
The Suns will have their own #25-30 pick and of course sell it to the Blazers.
Suns fans will be left cursing management.
Yep. And in 2008, I'm not going to fall for it. This franchise has conned me for the last time.
Wrong!
They'll leak rumors for weeks about trading their picks for Tim Duncan and then sell them for cash.
I've seen 2 national columnists say today Brook Lopez of Stanford could
be #1 overall. I love the kid but I really see no way he goes ahead of Mayo, and Beasley and Rose could both easily go ahead of him if they have good years.
The rationale on Lopez which i've been saying for months now is Lopez is better than Hawes, and hawes went very high so Lopez will go even higher.
And I think it's Draft Express that has had Darren Collison as high as 5th which I would scoff at except Conley went 4th and while I think he's better than DC, I'm not sure how much better?
Next year figures to be the year to need a PG, Mayo, Rose, Collison, probably Augustin, probably Lawson and Scottie Reynolds.
This board is unbearable lately.
THE SUNS HAVE THE FOURTH HIGHEST PAYROLL IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE AND ARE 8 MILLION OVER THE CAP.
And yes, I used caps on purpose.
Seriously people. This "$arver is cheap" crap is getting old. Listening to the radio I heard an interesting fact. When Sarver bought the team they had barely over $40,000,000 in payroll. He has essentially doubled the teams payroll in a few years. That is not the sign of a cheap owner. But, I guess it gives you guys something to complain about, so have at it.
my god man, the thread was a joke. get over yourself.
Most threads lately has been infiltrated with the "$arver is cheap" crap and it's just getting old. Even if this is a joke.
It's like people come here just to complain about every little thing, even if it's completely unjustifiable.
We've been hearing that next year is the year of the PG. Even if the Hawks are better than we hope, there may still be somebody worth taking after the 4th pick, unlike this year.
Augustin's ascent to elite status at the NCAA has already taken place. He is one of the top five point guards in the country, now averaging 15 ppg, 6.8 apg and 2.0 spg, while shooting 48% both from field and beyond the arc. Augustin is also coincidentally seeing his stock rise rapidly in terms of his professional future.
Augustin is remarkably well-rounded for such a young prospect, but the aspect of his game that immediately sticks out is how he plays the game under control. His fantastic 2/1 Ast/TO ratio doesn't tell the entire story here, as Augustin plays at very high speeds - his explosiveness, quick hands and court vision allow him to weave in and out of traffic at will- and gets the most out of his ball-handling ability while usually managing to keep himself out of turnover situations.
Augustin isn't the most creative passer in the open court or on the perimeter, but has made impressive strides in his ability to control an offense. At the beginning of the season he tended to dominate the ball and look to drive instead of setting up his teammates, but Texas' offense is now running like a well-oiled machine. This is in large part thanks to Augustin's willingness to focus on setting up his teammates.
While he may not thread the needle the way that some pass-first point guards do, Augustin has mastered the art of the penetrate and kick. With Texas' small lineup and defenses' attention elsewhere, he has done a great job of identifying and capitalizing on the resulting lanes to the basket. It’s hard to put a value on his ability to make defenses pay for hounding Durant at every turn. There aren't many guards that can stay in front of Augustin defensively, and if the help defense doesn't react immediately, you can put the two points on the board. Augustin makes up for his lack of height with a full bag of tricks for getting his shot off over taller defenders, often appearing to force dribble penetration but rarely putting up a low-percentage shot.
Good reason to hold onto that Atlanta pick and hope Atlanta doesn't do much better next season.
At the end of next season when half the teams in the east go into full tank mode the Hawks will be playing hard and racking up meaningless victories. Its hard to imagine them having one of the 5 worst records again. Even if they're horrible my guess would be 8-12.
I think a darkhorse for us next year might be Jared Bayless...Bibby meets KJ...perfect heir apparent to Nash. Might be a blessing in disguise this year.
For Suns fans not living in Phoenix, Bayless is widely viewed as the one of the greatest players ever to come out of the valley HS scene. He gets overlooked nationally, but he has been one of the stars of the under 18 USA teams, the AAU curcuit, and has been a huge star here. St Mary's did not have the talent to make his team a big deal, but everyone believes he'll be a huge star. Going to U fo A means he will get a chance to prove he's as good as advertised.
IF the Atlanta pick is in the teen's, I hope the Suns take this guy.
