Niners get 4 primetime games. I guess we know who the NFL, NBC, ESPN & folks think will win the NFCW. :mulli:

That is a big slap in the face of the Cards!! But personally I am fine with that. I am not a big fan of the primetime games personally.

9/12 @ St. Louis 4:15pm - W (1-0)
9/19 @ Atlanta 1:00pm - L (1-1)
9/26 Oakland 4:15pm - W (2-1)
10/3 @ San Diego 4:15pm - L (2-2)
10/10 New Orleans 4:05pm - L (2-3)
10/17 BYE --- - UGH, still sub .500 at break
10/24 @ Seattle 4:05pm - W (3-3)
10/31 Tampa Bay 4:15pm - W (4-3)
11/7 @ Minnesota 1:00pm - L (4-4)
11/14 Seattle 4:15pm - W (5-4)
11/21 @ Kansas City 1:00pm - W (6-4)
11/29 San Francisco 8:30pm - W (7-4)
12/5 St. Louis 4:15pm - W (8-4)
12/12 Denver 4:15pm - W (9-4)
12/19 @ Carolina 1:00pm - W (10-4)
12/25 Dallas 7:30pm - W (11-4)
1/2 @ San Francisco 4:15pm - L (11-5)

I think we can swing either the SD or NO game, but more likely lose both, so I chose conservatively.

I think we can swing either on the Carolina and Dallas game, but like our chances in both, so because I went conservative early I'm giving us a break here.

If we finish 11-5 (and given Whis's track record 8 wins, 9 wins, 10 wins, it seems logical) that's a great season as a semi-rebuilding year.

What is the deal with the NFL? The Cards go to the SB and get three primetime games and go to the playoffs last year and get two primetime games. Meanwhile CLE goes 10-6 in 07, misses the playoffs and gets 5 primetime games in 08. What a bunch of horsepucky. Sorry part of me is also really pissed I'll more likely than not be going to Charlotte for my birthday instead of Glendale for a game. Outside of St. Louis probably the worst city to go to for a weekend (at least in terms of the 8 road games the Cards have this year).

hmm, i predict 11-5 for the niners too. they got some patsies and will race out to a very strong start (and all the media will be crowing about how they've passed us 'cuz my projection shows us off to a slow start), but they wilt down the stretch against tough competition.

As usual the Cards have home games Thanksgiving and Christmas.

That sucks again for trying to get in from out of town. Flights are scarce and cost really escalates. Thanksgiving may not be too bad as game is on Monday and could fly in Monday AM.

Best game on the schedule is @ San Diego. Road Trip anyone?

By then I'm going to need some time off, may be able to swing that.

Well, it looks like I'll be missing one game for sure. What idiot would put a game on Christmas day?

I'm not thrilled with this schedule, but the 3 consecutive home games in late
November and early December is a great chance to build momentum for a playoff run.

I've thought about this for a bit and i cannot recall ever having three home games in a row before. It must've happened sometime in Arizona, but I can't remember it.

Schedule High & Low Points

1. Three of our first 4 games (including the first 2) are away.

2. Our three toughest non-div. games appear to be @SD, NO and @Vikes.

3. Two prime time games - including MNF after Thanksgiving and Christmas night. Both are at home.

4. Two closest things to potential snow/bad weather games appear to be KC on 11/21 and Carolina on 12/19 (& neither city compares with places like Foxboro, Cleveland or Buffalo)

5. Six games are not during the 4pm - 7pm Eastern time zone dinner hour.

6. I checked our opponents for edges pro or con coming off Bye weeks, short or long practice weeks etc. and, (with the exception of our gaining a half-day on the Niners because we play Christmas night vs. Dallas and catch one opponent in the midst of their 3-game road swing), there are no discernable edges for either the Cardinals or their opponents throughout the schedule.

(Update - We're at a short-workweek disadvantage vs. the Rams 12/5 since we're coming off the MNF game vs. Niners - but at least we're home and make up some of that time because we don't have to travel).

7. No pay-back games I can think of outside our division - i.e. the Giants (Rolle), the Jets (Feely and Rhodes), Dolphs (Porter, Dansby), Cleve or Cincy (Hadnot), Baltimore (Boldin) aren't on our schedule.

8. I seldom get wrapped up in "strength-of-schedule" comparisons (a) because most of the games played by StL, Sea, SF and us are against common opponents, (b) what a team did a year ago often has little bearing on what they'll do now and (c) 53 dudes still have to suit up and compete against 53 other dudes, with a ball that bounces funny (and refs who occasionally will ref funny).

9. (Updated) We open vs. a Ram team that may not yet have its sea-legs under them - especially if they draft Bradford and decide to start him from Day One.

KC vs SD? Man you've been living in Dallas too long.

:D

Redbirds at Chiefs

I've always wanted to experience that atmosphere at Arrowhead, plus they are 1 of the 13 teams I have yet to see the Cards play.

It looks like I will make 3 games @ St L, @ Atl and the Monday Nighter against SF.

Sucks for me that St L & Atl are back to back. I hate driving and doing that in back to back weekends makes it even worse.

Wow you just made me realize something. In all the years I've been going to College and Pro football games I don't think I've ever been to more than a handful of games where it was really cold because they were almost all either UT or the Cardinals.

Without Warner and the supposed AIRSHOW the Cardinals get less primetime games.Sorry but thats the main reason.

They matched Warner with Both Manning brothers in primetime last season and also against favre. Then of course the dreaded 9er game too for division rivalry.

All in all its an easier schedule than last year to me.The early Bye was good & bad for us as a team last year.We needed to get our Mojo back since we never had it in pre-season and the early Bye helped, but a team needs the Bye generally as close to the middle of the season as possible.

Second half of season sets itself up for a RUN.I like it!!!

Happy the 49'ers have 4 PT games...

Why?? Simple. I have a vested interest. Root like crazy against the 49'ers! :mulli: One other comment. Many years ago when Dallas sucked, I heard another fan say, the NFL desperately wants Dallas to be good again.( ie; tradition, etc. etc.) I thought... interesting. The 49'ers resurrected to their former glory?? All those references to their glorious past, etc. I'll be watching closely which way the yellow hankies fly this year. I think the refs respected Kurt a great deal for his play on the field and his contributions off it. So, my question is: How will they feel about Matt. Don't even try to tell me Manning & Brady don't get preferential treatment. The favoritism is very obvious! I never forget the NFL is a business offering a product. GO CARDS! :)
