Wait....I meant to say Mavs in 6 :D

j/k. Im here to eat crow.

Miami was dead man walking tonight. That performance was flat out embarrassing. It was clear Dallas wanted nothing to do with a Game 7 and decided to put the nail in the coffin. They all played with heart and emotion. Dallas outplayed, outcoached, and defeated Miami mentally. Everyone stepped up even with Dirk being off.

The key was Dallas figuring out how to get open looks. Miami was too busy collapsing in the interior and leaving guys like JET, Barrea, Dirk and Stevenson wide open beyond the arc.

The LeBron smack is justified for sure. Spoelstra is lucky for that because his coaching was equally as suspect and is able to hide behind him. He failed to adjust or adjusted when it was futile. I know Miami is a good man-on defensive team, but they needed to switch to a zone to contain the shooters. Him also running LeBron at the point was ridiculous. Acquiring Bibby midseason was supposed to abolish that.

The Big 3 are going to have a long offseason to think about this epic fail (an even longer one if the lockout goes through). A team with this many good players, who evicerated Chicago and Boston should have been able to handle Dallas, but they decided to mentally check out when it mattered #lookingatlebron

Personal silver lining: JET (UofA), Marion and Kidd (former Suns) and Peja (who was screwed in the 2002 WCF by the officials) all get rings.

Lol. Don't worry about that opinion. Like Webber would know good defense if it walked up and bit him in the *ss. Bill Russell he was not.

Dude, anytime Chris Webber runs his mouth I simply say.

"Hey Chris, you're out of timeouts bro."

I'll never forget chris webber on the set of tnt calling dirk soft a couple of years ago when they were losing in the playoffs to denver. talk about having a REAL off court distraction because his girlfriend was being hunted by the FBI for fraud. yet dirk was dropping 35 a game against denver in that series, while dealing with off court issues, and being called soft by C-Webb?

yet for other nba stars chris webber will make excuses when there aren't any while they underperform in the playoffs.

and i don't buy the "the Heat need more role players"... they got 40 points off the bench in Game 5 and it didn't matter and they got 6 players in double figures tonight. What they needed was their best player to play like their best player, not play like a shrinking violet.

In the wise words of Jason Segel:

"Lebron will never be Jordan. Call me when Lebron has 6 championships..."

"Is that your only argument?"

"IT'S THE ONLY ARGUMENT I NEED!"

well I agree with you there. I just mean they have to have hard nosed guys like they did in 06. guys who in the 4th quarter are going to step up and help their star players in those tough times. they seem like they get production early in the games, but late they go away.

you might as well forget about phil jackson, there is a better chance riley comes down. but they should sign big shot bob lol! they need some guys like that.

"Its going to be a long 12 minutes."
--Miami Coach Eric Spolstra's remark to ABC News, & repeated in his team huddle prior to 4th Quarter

Not real sure how this was to motivate or help his team?

lol me too. It's a perfect example of how these young kids who didn't see Jordan play simply dont get it. We're not just old fogeys talkin bout the old days and it's not like that was the early days of basketball and it was easy to 3 peat (twice). No matter how bad they want Lebron to be Jordan, it aint gonna make it so.

dwane wade was michael jordan for one year in 06. the dude did that 6 times.

lebron has all of the talent in the world. he's like a hybrid vehicle. he just has to go out there and perform in the crunch. his rep defintely took a hit in this series because his point total was too low on a team that needed him to be a hero(alongside dwade) with his scoring. the dude has to work on his shot making. he can get all of the highlight reel dunks in the world in the regular season, but come playoff time he has to make contested shots (like dirk does/kobe/etc). no one did it like mike that I have watched.

I dont know why Lebron made such a big deal out of it, its really not hard there are plenty of touches to go around in a game. I get 40 each out of Nash and Richardson like every game on NBA2k11. :p

Look at Donald now.. been MIA.. like Miami.. All of a sudden he comes back and starts talking mess.. No one caes about your lame ass Donlad.. you cant just show up out the blue..

I only got to watch two games this series. Both of them happened to be Dallas wins and LeBron choke jobs. Made me happy - what I thought at the start of it all didn't happen until a lot later than I thought it would, but eventually the superteam went down. Nice to see their egos and primping and prissing get thrown about in the midst of it all as well.

Enjoy your offseason, I got three out of the four things I wanted this postseason, even though the best one wasn't in the cards.

Well in all fairness (I've called Donald out many times on here) he has said many times Kobe is an a-hole. It's just that he's Donald's a-hole if you know what I mean. :p

Yep, that is about it. Kobe's a dick for sure, I can't deny that. He'll also cut your face off if that's what it takes. I admire that.

lol. you crack me up gee... like i said, I win either way here... but save you pointing out Donald groundhogging his head up only AFTER LeBron went tortilla while being AWOL when he was destroying the league, you've been out to lunch on everything else. ain't no hard feelings...

LeBron was destroying the league this year? When?

In the playoffs, Wade and Chris freaking BOSH were killing it. LeBron seemed a blip this postseason..and most of the regular.

Whatever. Like I care. I popped in and said congrats to gee's team when they got to the Finals, admitting they got further than I thought they would. Sorry I didn't slobber on Lebron enough over the course of his spectacular season. I didn't slobber over Rose, either, who had an amazing year.

he was destroying the league in the Boston/Chicago series to the tune of 29.3 ppg 9 rebounds and 6 assists... and that's when you went AWOL.

dude, prior to the Finals (which was the period of time I was referring to that you went AWOL) LeBron was a BLIP. Yeah, that's why people were making comparisons between him and Jordan... because he was a blip.

Good lord Donald. Like I said, you completely dissappeared when LeBron was tearing apart the league in the playoffs and then only showed your head once he started to flame out. That makes you a front-runner... which makes sense considering you're a Laker fan.

Seriously... LeBron seemed a blip this post-season? Dude was THE story of the playoffs.

I gotta tell you... if I'm Miami, I think SERIOUSLY about making a play for Dwight Howard and offer up LeBron in the process. He and Wade are amazing players, but a) I don't know how great of a fit they are b) that Heat team is SERIOUSLY weak in the middle. They have no inside out game and LeBron just can't handle the pressure. Throw a twin towers of Bosh-Howard downlow with Wade controlling the exterior and that team can win titles...

and it would just be hilarious to see LeBron banished to Orlando.

Wade/Howard/Bosh?

That would be a sick amount of titles. It's Kobe/Pau/Bynum only with a MUCH stronger center (and better spare parts in Miller and crew). Get a PG for MLE and you're good.

That's a title team for sure.

I thought Bosh was the story of the playoffs. I was impressed with him in the Chicago series for sure, and I felt he was the reason they made it to the Finals. The only thing that stood out to me from LeBron in the playoffs was when he guarded Rose in key series that, to me, effectively won the Bulls series and put them in the finals. I wouldn't say that was tearing anything apart.

He didn't have anything clutch I remember...Wade was giving the clutch shots and the heart in the Boston and Bulls series. Maybe he destroyed their first round opponent (sixers?) but big whoop.

If I'm not mistaken, LeBron had already flamed out a few times before I posted again. I didn't watch the first four games of the Finals, but I read the news...sounded like LeBron wasn't showing up.

The only reason he was THE story of the playoffs was because his legacy is the one being talked about...not because he was killing it. I heard reference to Scottie saying he was MJ 2.0 or better or something silly, but other than that, I didn't see as much Lebron love as I've seen in past offseasons.

Admittedly, I've been a bit checked out.

dude... what are you talking about? It was LeBron hitting every big shot in the fourth quarter and OT of Game 4 in Boston that put them up 3-1 (after scoring 35, 24 in the second half to put them away in Game 2), then went on a 10-0 run by himself when the score was tied at the end of Game 5 to win the series... and he was the one who took over the Chicago series, which Wade struggled throughout, scoring 9 points late in the fourth quarter of Game 2 en route to 29, 10 and 6 where they stole HCA, then carried the Heat with 35 when Wade was struggling in Game 4 and made big shot after big shot in the fourth quarter and OT to win that game and then in Game 5, both he and Wade teamed for a 16-0 run (with LeBron scoring the game tying bucket and the three to take the lead...) to take that entire series. all while completely shutting down Rose. All LeBron did in those series was take over. What series were you watching?

Maybe he destroyed their first round opponent (sixers?) but big whoop.

huh? this was the one series in the Eastern conference where Bron DIDN'T play well.

If I'm not mistaken, LeBron had already flamed out a few times before I posted again. I didn't watch the first four games of the Finals, but I read the news...sounded like LeBron wasn't showing up.

you didn't show up until they started LOSING the Finals.

huh? The story of the finals was he was finally living up to his legacy... that's why the story in the finals of his shrinkage has taken over all else.

Admittedly, I've been a bit checked out.

but yet you talk like you've been watching the entire thing, when it's incredibly apparent, you have no idea what you're talking about.

makes sense... sounds like every Laker fan i know.

Actually, I said I didn't watch much of it. Too busy. What I did watch, I didn't see much that really stood out for LBJ (not that he didn't have numbers, sure he did, he's a freakish talent).

LeBron does two things that impress me - he's great driving to the rack and he's perhaps one of the best at weak side and trailing blocks that I've ever seen. But other than that, his game bores the living crap out of me. He puts up great numbers, but I'd rather watch guys like magic, jordan, kobe, nash, etc, do their thing. He just bores me. He's like Shaq to me...incredible talent, half-asses it more often than not. But Shaq didn't shy from the alpha role, he relished it.

So I was more impressed with Bosh, who shouldn't be dropping 30 point games, and Wade, who had some of the best defense at the end of games that I've seen by a guard in a while, than LeBron putting up 30 points.

So maybe he was the bees knees and I missed it. Doesn't change the fact that he sucked when the pressure was on, and I did see that. And now he's acting like a douche in his post game pressers, and I'm not shocked at that either. He's a guy who feels entitled but doesn't pour his heart and soul into it, at least it doesn't appear that way. You may hate Kobe, but the dude works his ass off, buries himself in the game, and plays through injuries because he wants to win. LeBron expects to win. He's more talented than Kobe. Kobe does more with less. I respect that immensely. There's a ton of non-Lakers I respect more than LBJ too...because they work their asses off. Guys like Dirk.

I'm convinced Nash would have won a championship if Cuban had stuck with him. Maybe even in '06.
