said this right after the game and i'm sticking to it... whoever wins tonight, wins the series.

I agree with Cheese, this is the Lakers last gasp. This is as backed into a corner as they'll ever get. If they lose tonight the finger pointing and drama will boil over and they'll probably get swept. Especially if Kobe starts to pout and shuts it down like he did in game 7 against the Suns.

However if they beat Dallas, that old feeling will creep back in for the Mavs, the Lakers will have their confidence back and it will be over.

I hope I'm wrong because I'd say there's about a 90% chance LA wins tonight.

Question - what percentage of Tyson Chandler's career points have come from lob dunks?

Seriously, that guy is ridiculously good at finding, negotiating and successfully getting space for lobs (and great PGs in paul and kidd to hit him). He gets a few every game, far more than any other player I can remember.

good read from the LA times...says lakers winning 6 or 7. Until proven otherwise I'd have to say I'm not convinced of the mavs yet either. I feel this mavs team is different. but this is still the lakers...

It's the same feeling I had last year as the Suns swept the Spurs. After the first two wins, I knew we had to win one in SA. When we won game 3, I still wasn't counting my chickens until we won game 4.

Even If LA win tonight they are not going to win game 4. Dallas is winning this series. Lakers are done for the season.

although kobe was in foul trouble....

I think that was the most flashy quarter we've seen. the lakers went with that interesting lineup, but the mavericks matched it with dirk hitting uncontested shots. it will be interesting to see how often the lakers use all 3 big guys at once and how the mins affect the game.

I love jeff van gundy commentating. but somebody needs to point out to him on air that his rockets are one of the two that lost the 2-0 lead gained on the road.

I can't tell what's happening. Lakers are starting to win, is it the real Lakers showing up or the real Mavs showing up?

Lakers with the stupid foul again after not fouling to save the clock. If your going to try and stop them, you can't commit dumb fouls when the shotclock is running down. That's twice in this series. First one was Gasol.

well peja was robin tonight.

with peja...not only did dirk bring them back...but he closed them out.
Homeboy (Peja) did light it up, Dirk did a nice job when the double team came, and Dallas got some crucial boards towards the end. Dallas looks tough.

Lakers' offense was horrible. Easy to guard when there is no movement. Sad really.

I'm completely shocked. I said before I gave the Lakers about a 90% chance to win this game, and then I fully expected them to go on and dominate from there. I never even considered the slightest possibility that the Mavs could sweep.

All season long actually I have just figured the Lakers were coasting along waiting to flip the switch and then when they did that against New Orleans I said; 'there it is.'

Props to the Mavs, that took major guts to close the 4th that strong. Dirk appears to be on a mission. It's not over yet though, we'll see how much fight the Lakers have left in them in game 4.

I was surprised that they decided to double dirk late. it led to wide open 3's for guys that usually don't miss. but then again it really is dirk. he just puts this team on his back in the 4th. there is no stopping him right now. pau gasol was supposed be cancelling dirk out so we thought. but dirk is killing him(and odom) at both ends of the court.

Durant can school Dirk, on both sides of the court. I got OKC beating the Mavs for that reason alone.
