Durant will mess Dirk up in the Western Finals. The Mavs will accomplish their lifelong dreams of beating LA only to get punked by OKC.
that would require dallas to beat LA one more time.

and then OKC still has to beat memphis 3 more times.

Don't forget about this. OKC is still a young team. It might be memphis in the WCF.

I know phoenix suns fan would rather see OKC in the finals. I understand that. but I honestly feel that the DAL/LA series is the WCF.

If only they had Tiago Splitter on their roster, they would be unbeatable. :D
true, but then they would just make him the goat. If jackson beats up on gasol like he's some type of whipping boy i'd hate to see what he'd do to splitter. he might split his face. what is phil doing? does he honestly think gasol is going to respond to that? this isn't high school.

and donald, I just got a chance to read all of your post. it sounds like...mark cuban after a loss, but high on crystal meth. seriously it isn't that complicated. one team wins a game...the other loses.

OKC is becoming the new SAS.

In the role of Tim Duncan...Kevin Durant, an absolutely great player, long, active, fundamentally sound, the personality of a grapefruit.

In the role of Tony Parker...Russell Westbrook, mercurial, sharp shooter, great playmaker, distributor, whiner, punk, cocky, falls down at the slightest breeze.

Overall, good execution, solid defense, steady whining and flopping.

Cheese, I find it downright hilarious that you're far more emotional about the Lakers losing than I am. Ridiculously emotional about it.

Please, more ALL CAPS emphasis on these KEY POINTS you are making. It's funny. I accepted what this team was awhile back. They are choking away games, big fat choke artists. Again, flip the script and you'd be blathering about how Dallas was choking.

But of course, you are always right so carry on. It's kind of awesome picturing your face getting all red and furious. Rage....building....

Ouch!!That is an ugly injury. painful to watch. Will be hard for the Celtics to win the series without Rondo

i'm not that emotional. i (and everyone else) just think you're takes a laughable and Patrick Ewing-esque in their denial that you're team is just getting taken the woodshed by a team that's better than you, more athletic than you, has more heart than you and can close better than you.

uh, Patrick, if I was "always right" (and here's some more caps for you just because you like them) WOULDN'T IT MAKE SENSE THAT I WOULD CALL THE LAKERS CHOKING DOGS AND STICK TO MY BASHING OF THE MAVS WHO COULDN'T POSSIBLY BEAT THE LAKERS UNLESS IT WAS HANDED TO THEM ON A SILVER PLATTER AFTER I CALLED CHOKE-ARTISTS WHO WOULD GET KILLED IN THIS SERIES?

A few people on this message board and Mavs fans. Not quite everyone else. The general consensus out there in the media is more in my side than yours.

"Is it possible to sweep ourselves? It is," Shannon Brown said.

what a joke the Lakers and their fans are at this point. The entirety of Lakernation, fans and players alike have caught Ewingitis.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but, can I get some citations on this assertion? And even then, if 8 out of eleven of today's stories on the series say that the Lakers are just giving the series away and the Mavs don't really deserve it...isn't that still just 8 dudes' opinions?

yeah they have had open shots all series. even when they lost in the regular season I came on here and said that the mavs got what they wanted against LA...but they just flat out missed shots that they normally make. like terry said after game 2..."we haven't even hit shots yet in this series like we can...they are there"

peja missed wide open looks in that game last night. then suddenly in the 4th he started to finally knock them down. lakers and their fans are just refusing to accept this. why the hell were they trying to double or triple dirk(when he came inside) and then think that a guy isn't going to be open. the same thing happened in game 2 with the pick and roll.

this is simple elementary math. you collapse...another guy is open somewhere on the court. I mean the lakers have done this for years with kobe and his BIG(shaq/gasol/bynum)

eh, they were successful with that strategy against the Suns last year? too bad Dirk is a better passer and much much more experienced dealing with double- and triple-teamings than Amare was.

True except that the DAL/LA series is only the semis. If it will be Dallas-Memphis in WCF it should be an interesting series too.

here's another laker in denial.

it's almost like watching sunset blvd. washed up actress goes crazy.

..I think the biggest problem that the lakers have is that they are taking the approach that their fans and media are taking. This is actually pretty sad and weak if you ask me...on the lakers part. And the 0-3 defecit is a direct result. I understand that fans are going to act this way...but to see actual players and coaches do it is quite comical.

Rather than focusing on why the mavericks are beating them...they are so wrapped up in making crybaby excuses and playing the blame game that they can't make an adjustment.

that's because the national media all picked the lakers to win this series....and beyond that to win the title. so they too are having a hard time coming to terms with reality. Sometimes when I'm wrong...I try to justify the reason..rather than just owning up.

barkley is the only person I heard.. who boldly picked dallas to win in 5 or 6(at most).

The national media picked dallas to lose to portland(by majority) so of corse they are not going to give dallas credit. Dallas is judged differently because of past playoff failures. So they have to win a ring before the majority of media types are going to truly respect them.

The lakers are dealing with the same thing except the opposite. because they have kobe and are back to back defending champs...people are going to overrate them no matter what. People fail to realize that previous seasons will not determine the outcome of this season. obviously the lakers are not tough enough to 3peat. this is not your daddy's lakers and for the same token (your daddy's mavericks). this is a new year.

Dallas have to come out and play like this is game 7. they cannot afford to give LA any hope. They need to come out and stomp on their throats.

Cluesless commentators.. seriously, Marion re-invented his game because he now runs the break and plays SF?

He has played like that his entire career. Even when he started at PF he still played the same offensively.

Except for the 3s he used to take

Now, that is what you call coming out to close a series. Dallas killing Lakers from beyond the arc.
