I would rather have Shannon Brown back.

Joel

Yep, and I don't even like Shannon Brown. There is zero upside to signing Crawford, I'd much rather look for someone who can actually grow into a decent player, not someone looking for their last paycheck.

Why do I have zero faith our FO will do the right thing?

Damn Blazers offered Hibbert a max deal and Indy didn't?

Portland could be scary with LMA, Hibbert and Lillard.

Just say no to Kaman and Crawford. The Suns need to think younger.

Also would take Shannon Brown back on a reasonable contract.

I think our front office is in for a rude awakening this free agency period and will learn just how undesirable Phoenix is to play right now.

Yeah i think we should stay out of that. Those are bigger numbers than what they should have gotten under the old CBA.

You and I rarely agree, but today is the day. Stay the hell away from free agency. Let teams overpay this year, while we sign some one year deals like last year. Keep that $20M for next season when teams will have locked themselves out of the FA market.

Maybe the Suns (and they probably will) is let the big spenders spend and then cherry pick those who do not get the huge contracts. There are really not any big names available anyway so it might be a good strategy.

Unconfirmed, but thought I'd pass it along anyway since it's from the official twitter feed.

‏@PhoenixSuns: Suns President Lon Babby, GM Lance Blanks & coach @AlvinGentry are in L.A. to meet w/ free-agent forward Michael Beasley (@MBEASLEY8).

I think Beasley is worth a flyer. Sure, he's a long shot, but his talent is undeniable.

If the price is right, let's kick the tires.

Another bonus to having a bunch of other teams overspend if the Suns stay out of the madness is it gives the Suns a better chance of using their cap space to get picks and/or prospects by trading for unwanted salary.

Same with Mayo. If the price is right there is no harm. Gives those guys a chance to display themselves(particularly Mayo who will have no competition at SG) and try to earn bigger contracts.

In the end I expect them to both get deals larger than I'd be comfortable with though.

Looks like the blazers offered Hibbert a deal. Pacers have some thinking to do.

Would love to see if he's ready to grow up. An athletic young scorer who will be reasonably priced? Get it done.

Stay the hell away from Michael Beasley.

He has the rare distinction of getting worse each season. He is a complete abomination defensively and on the glass. He might "score" but roughly 90% of the league could score if they took all the shots and possessions that Beasley does. So when you account for how terribly inefficient Beasley is then it completely mitigates his value as a scorer, and when you take that away Beasley is among the worst players in the entire league.

MOST of the league has figured that out, the Wolves spent several months last season trying to give him away and couldnt find any takers. But there is probably be a few idiot teams who see the flash but dont realize how horrific he is to team success and will offer him some money, and I dont care what amount they sign him for, if it has a 2nd year on the contract, they will deeply regret it.

Wow Dragic is looking for 10mil a year. I think that would put us out of the running.

@SpearsNBAYahoo: Mavs free agent guard Jason Terry getting interest from Boston, Grizzlies, Clippers, Suns and Mavs, source tells Yahoo!

That officially means we've been linked to every decent FA shooting guard on the market.

And Jason Terry too.

No thanks to Terry or Allen, would much rather take a chance on a young player.

Mayo, rush, then Brown is what I'd be okay with. No to terry, Allen and Crawford.

Just reported the 3 yr offer to Nash by the Raptors was false.
