I don't see the Lakers trading the #6 for only Bledsoe though, although I could see them do it for Love as they're desperate. Maybe Bledsoe and their 2015 pick back or Bledsoe and one or two of the picks in the teens or something if allowed. As much as I like Bledsoe, that #5/6 pick is enticing with Dragic already in the fold at the point.

I disagree. I think they'd make that trade and boast about having ripped us off for years. It's a safe bet that Wiggins, Parker, Embiid, Randle and Vonleh will be off the board by 6. Who is left that is anywhere near as appealing as Bledsoe?

Might want to walk back that guarantee a little bit. Kupchak was literally JUST on the radio here in LA saying they'd definitely consider using their lotto pick in a trade this summer. They're delusional out here. They think they can rebuild completely on the fly and bring in enough talent this off-season to rally around Kobe in his last couple years.

Well, egg on my face on that one. I guess I should have prefaced that with "if sanity reigns with the Lakers. . ."

They're not going to trade it for some combo of our picks, the Morris' and Channing Frye or some silly thing though. It would mean the Suns are signing and trading Eric Bledsoe to LA because he's told the front office he hates it here and wants out, and thus the Suns hands are tied.

I think the Lakers would like to have their 2015 first round draft pick back from the Suns. Then on draft day, they could trade their rights to their first round pick in 2014 and also trade their 2015 first round pick. However, I have confidence McDonough is not going to get manipulated.

Of course the Suns would have to sweeten the deal.

Hooray!

Also if anyone cares, the Wizards lost the coin flip with Brooklyn. The Suns will get their pick at 18. So its almost assuredly 14, 18, 28.

E: First time I played the Celtics and Lakers went 1-2. Which would be the least surprising thing in the world.

Also I don't think it takes team need into account. It has the Suns taking LaVine, PG, UCLA at 14. I can't see the Suns taking another PG at all unless they know Bledsoe is walking.

I think the Suns draft at #27 instead of #28 on the Suns draft order above.

I doubt if the Lakers would trade a top 3 pick, but maybe if it ends up later. But who knows now. I have misjudged them completely.

Sanity left Lakerland the moment they resigned a one legged Kobe Bryant to that atrocious contract extension.

Hooray!
If we were lucky to draft that high and he were paired alongside a rebounding physical presence at Power Forward (instead of moving Parker to Power Forward, an urge the Suns would have to fight), fine!

But KT is determined to keep Channing Frye at PF. Not so fine!

Jabari Parker has a LeBron type of build, but not LeBron athleticism. He has similar skills though. I want to compare him to Grant Hill, but the young Hill was more of an athlete and lighter by 30 lbs.

Why do you say this? I certainly got the idea that we were looking at upgrading at least one position in the front court.

I wondered the same thing but decided it was probably just a slip of the tongue (or finger). He was probably thinking McDonough or Jeff but blaming it on Kevin towers (Dbacks GM),

Kurt Thomas is the only name that came to my mind.

Understandable. But Dbacks fans are obsessed with Towers right now so the slip-up made sense to me. In the span of a few short years he's taken a team and a minor league loaded with young talent and almost wiped it clean. There are a lot of fans that wish he'd just followed Jack's example and traded away the talent for a handful of beans. At least that way they wouldn't have to keep paying for the beans.

Sorry to hear that. I'm out of the loop. Sounds like this guy rivals Lance Blanks.

Who the heck is KT?
Yup I goofed! I had just come from the ASFN D-backs site. I guess I equate Channing Frye's performance with those of the D-backs. I guess I'll just have to post on each of the sites every other day. Although the basketball season is over for us. :)

I can't remember if it was Kendricks who said he wants Frye back on the Suns next season along with Bledsoe.

I just listened to about 45 minutes of RealGM Radio with host Daniel Leroux talking to Amin Elhassan of ESPN about the Suns. The total broadcast goes longer but I wanted to primarily hear about the Suns. It gives some excellent food for thought when talking salaries for Tucker, who seems like a 3M+ type player (and replaceable) and Bledsoe who seems to be about a 4 year, $50 million type player. It goes on to cover some players where the Suns select in the draft and free agency.

Anyway I found the discussion enjoyable. See the link below.

This is shaping up as one of the most loaded drafts I can ever recall from an international perspective, at least from a quantity standpoint

I'll take James Young at #14, Clint Capela at #18.

I spun ESPN's lotto machine 50 times before I stopped counting, spun it a few more minutes and finally stumbled into the 3rd pick.

So I'm sayin there's a chance!

This is why I don't want the Suns to fritter away their picks unless they can get an impact type player in return. There is some deep talent in this draft even into the second round.

I don't see PHX trading their picks for a proven PF because neither MIN, LAC or POR will be willing to deal Love/Griffin/Aldridge.

So PHX currently has 3 first rounder, which I can see them taking a guy and stashing 2 over in Europe.

I hope Aaron Gordon drops to #14 as I see him as a Faried / Marion type of guy whose athleticism will allow him to produce even if he is limited offensively.

I can see the following play out:

#14 - Dario Saric - Stays in Europe
#18 - Rodney Hood - Can come in and be a major part of the rotation
#27 - Clint Capella - Stays in Europe

If PHX keeps their 2nd rounder a guy I am intrigued by is UNLV PF Khem Birch. He is extremely athletic but raw. Averaged 11 pts, 10 rebs & almost 4 blocks a game for a talented UNLV team this year that also featured SF Roscoe Smith who averaged a double double from the SF spot. Very similar to Aaron Gordon particularly in size (6'9 220) in that he is very limited offensively but his athleticism, rebounding and defense should project well in the NBA. A little immature as he originally started at PITT but transferred because his game did not fit in Jamie Dixon's system, messy transfer as he blasted Dixon & teammates before leaving.

Somewhere along the line the Suns need to pick up another PG like Napier who can shoot.
