We should just try to get Robin and Brook too. Then when the Suns run on the court "We are family" can boom from the loudspeakers. Oh yeah, maybe we can sign Seth and trade for Steph.

LOL.

I know but Hoopshype is a terrible source for cap information.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/PHO.html

Is closer to the truth and when up to date is pretty accurate.

Also, a cap hold is 150% of last years salary. That isn't his cap-hold, it's his qualifying.

It's just a terrible site for anything nowadays. I sat there and answered that stupid question after stupid question and it kept asking them even after it told me I had basically earned a free pass to their information. I deleted their bookmark.

I don't know anything about Omri but just looking at the numbers do you think he'd be an upgrade over Marcus? I can't help but think Marcus might be a better stretch four than a small forward.

Steve

I view it as depth not an upgrade over Marcus. Another player that can play PF and keep the defense honest (from packing it in). I'd prefer a bigger player to play that role but the Suns options are slipping away.

Makes sense. And I agree our outside options are slipping away but I'm hopeful we already have the problem solved in-house with the twins. I'd be more interested in finding a center that can also play the four spot when necessary.

Every time I think about what this roster should be able to do on the court I start regretting the fact we don't have a great rim protector. I do have some lingering doubts about whether the twins can give us what we need nightly from the 4 spot but those doubts would disappear quickly if I knew we had a strong defensive center playing alongside them. I'd feel a lot better about our guards too and I already feel pretty good about them.

An overlooked big guy in free agency, and I mean really overlooked, who I think would be a great fit on the Suns is Mavs center Bernard James. I'm a Mavs/Suns fan, so I know his game really well. He's a great shot-blocker + defender w/ good instincts, moves pretty well and is even a solid post defender - A big guy who loves to do the dirty work. He's also not completely useless offensively because he has a good touch around the basket (He had like a 30 and 20 game in his 1 D-League game this year), and has played well in S.L. so far ... He's only a 3rd player, but he's 29 (served in the military for several years) - would be a great guy to have at the end of the bench.

It is ridiculous that the Mavs barely gave him an opportunity last year (after he played solid his 1st year and improved since then) ... Rumors are the Mavs will re-sign him, but if the Suns want a cheap shot-blocker / defender type guy as a third center who is a great teammate/professional, he would be the perfect fit

I watched him against Minnesota and he looked pretty good. I didn't know anything about him and had no idea he was that old till I looked him up. He had a pretty weak PER but with so few minutes that stat is almost useless. I'm intrigued but there must be some reason Dallas isn't giving him much court time.

The thing is, there haven't really been any outside options to slip away. The only PF I would have wanted would have been Bosh and he wasn't going anywhere. I think the only attractive option for the Suns is through a trade if they want to get something done this summer. As other teams use up their space I'm sure there will be some looking to trade for pieces they didn't get themselves. If we are truly interested in trading one of the guards, that will be the teams we will contact if they are looking to upgrade at the position and have what we want in return. I've seen a few different mentions of the Bucks looking to clear some on their roster. Henson would be nice as a 5 and back up 4. If he is indeed made available. I'm sure other options will come up for the Suns to get what they need.

You're right, it's more time than options that's slipping away and even that's illusory. We're on kind of a basketball rush with the playoffs and the combine and the draft and now free agency. It makes it seem like the season is just around the corner and that's not really the case.

I think International Centers might play the type of ball we are looking at. Quick up and down the court, setting the pick, pick and roll, spitting the ball back out to the wide open three. Gortat would be golden here and I understand if yall laugh at that coming from me. I suppose a defensive guy who can get up and down the court will do, or we are in a straight up development year.

I have some trade ideas:

1)Denver
I would love to have Faried in my team. Any possibility? He has last year contract, next year he will get probably max.
Mozgov + Faried for Warren/Goodwin + Len + 2nd pick

Then we could develop Goodwin/Warren at SF, and have beast under basket.

2)New Orleans
Ryan Anderson+Ajinca for Len+Ennis+pick

3)New York
edited:Bargnani+pick for Ish Smith

4)Boston
Olynyk for Ish Smith+2nd pick

Do you like any idea?

It is foolish to trade Len, Warren, or Goodwin. Of these proposals, I would do the third or fourth ones. The third could possibly happen, the 4th wont.

Rubio should be happy he's lucky enough to still be in the league. I really can't figure out exactly what the difference between him and Kendall Marshall is. Rubio may not be as bad on defense, but overall, I consider those two to be exactly the same player.

Washington making moves this offseason. Some people had them as the team to beat in the East if Lebron left, and now they've added Kris Humphries.

Definitely a team to watch for in the East.

Shows how much you know, Rubio is a good defender.

Yeah, sure he is. Please tell me about his +/- divided by per, multiplied by defensive efficiency rating, or whatever formula you used to decide beasley is a good player or that nashw as a good defender. :)

I love how you cant just disagree or demonstrate a reason for your opinion, instead you have to hock a loogie in his grill.

You might have a little more leeway to say stuff like this if not for the many times you've been proven utterly wrong in your own understanding of the stats you love to tout (Beasley's true shooting, Stockton's pace, ect ect ect).

C'mon. Not even close. Marshall looks like he's from the 50's with that shot of his. He is not an athlete in any way, shape, or form. Rubio is twice the player that Marshall is.

Well, simply on shot Rubio looks like he should he on a JR High girls team the way he shoots. He makes Marshall look like Robin Hood. Rubio might be the worst shooter in the NBA, literally. But he is better than Marshall at everything else. Rubio has the athleticism to get to the rim at least... granted he can't finish once he gets there as even a layup is a task for him, but Marshall does not have the handling or the athleticism to attack the key with much frequency.

But it does demonstrate how incredibly disappointing Rubio has turned out to be that him and Kendall Marshall is a debatable comparison.

Some stupid team could still offer Rubio the max. Hell even Saunders might.

LOL. That comparison made me laugh. I agree about Rubio being disappointing. It's amazing to me that after all this time, he still hasn't improved his jump shot accuracy.
