I'd be shocked if both Bledsoe and Knight are not on the Phoenix Suns roster opening-day next season. The Lakers would never do that Knight-Russell trade because they'll want every dollar available to bring free agents to LA. I think we would have to give away draft picks and/or take back bad contracts to move Knight or Bledsoe at this point.

I'll be shocked if Devin Booker isn't the starting Shooting Guard next season, as he is now. Even Sarver and his puppets wouldn't be that stupid to treat him as just a temporary stand-in.

I just hope they realize (from watching Tyson Chandler's play and the things he's said) that we also need a Point Guard with skills to be a facilitator for the rest of the team.

That means that Bledsoe and Knight need to be gone. Now, that would be rebuilding.

I hope Booker and Warren start next year. As far as a PG goes, I am with you that we need an actual point guard instead of Bledsoe and Knight, but as far as Chandler goes, I can't help but think whether or not he's lost a couple of inches on his jump. One time I cursed out my dryer for shrinking my clothes. It took me a few weeks to realize it wasn't the dryer shrinking my clothes, but me adding quite a few pounds to my waist. I wonder if Chandler is doing the same thing- blaming PGs for throwing the ball up too high when he can't quite jump like he used to.

I'm confused. You find a headline saying that the Bucks are wanting to offload Monroe and MCW, but propose a trade with Parker, Mayo and Vasquez. Huh? Mayo and Vasquez are fill-ins, but Parker is probably their #1 untouchable--that's why they said they'd trade Monroe and MCW, not Parker.

Besides, McD would NEVER do that trade anyway since it is so lopsided in the Bucks favor.

Did you read the article? It states that Giannis is their only untouchable player and it would take a good offer for them to move Middleton or Parker. That team has a lot of needs, primarily in the backcourt which is where we have too many players, and they're really young. I explained why it might be plausible for them to do a deal with Phoenix. They're where Phoenix was before this season, they aren't good enough to do anything in the playoffs, or make the playoffs now, and they're not bad enough to draft a big time prospect. They actually have young talent at every position though so it seems like they'd rather scrape their way into the playoffs. That's why I suggested the deal I did.

I stated why they might take Knight back in my other post and what Phoenix might look for in return from them. Sure, Mayo & Vasquez are filler, at best they fill a short term need here in Phoenix for the remained of the year but those guys don't have futures in Milwaukee or in Phoenix based on the direction of each franchise and how they're being used where they are. Milwaukee isn't a hot free agent market, just like the Suns aren't, but they've always had a difficult time signing quality free agents so trading expiring deals for players who are locked in for the next few seasons help them sort out some things for the future. The article doesn't say anything about what they're looking for in trades but if they're willing to move 2 of their starters they'd probably move just about everyone. Monroe was their biggest FA acquisition in probably 15-20 years. He actually chose them over LA and NY. If they're willing to move him while he's having a pretty good season I don't see why it's so far fetched to think most everyone on their team is available. It seems Kidd doesn't know what he's doing with the personnel there.

This is a thread where people are posting about teams and players looking to make deals, I tried to tie it back to the Suns and their future and needs rather than just say Milwaukee is looking to move these guys and they've sucked ever since they sent Knight to Phoenix last season. Sure a deal with them isn't that likely but they might consider it because they're in a rare position where they could get a player they traded away who was their leader and they've been in worse shape without him. I'm sure Phoenix is willing to listen to any offers for Knight.

I agree they could use a true point guard, but it takes more than one team to make a deal. I think the Phoenix Suns will need time to hopefully have these guys increase their value a little bit, especially with Bledsoe out injured.

Bledsoe will be our starting PG next season.

It is mindboggling how some fans are criticizing him. Look at the facts, it is unbelievable what difference Bledsoe makes simply measured in wins and losses. He alone is probably the difference between a 10-win team and a 35-win team, that is unreal.

We are what? 2-20? without Bledsoe?

If I read one more time about pass first point guards I am going to lose it. There is no successful team in the league with a pass first point guard and blaming static offense on Bledsoe or Knight rather than Hornacek is a little much.

Knicks just fired Derek Fisher.

There's already some rumors flying that Thibedeau wants to coach there.

This. It's hilarious to think we need a pass first point guard to help and improve Tyson Freaking Chandler's offensive output. He's not an offensive option, and will not be in the future either. Sure he can get you a couple of dunks and put backs on ORBs, but don't sweat what he's doing or his lack of numbers at that end. Take the PG with good/great defense and the ability to break teams down and get to the rim. I hope Bledsoe can improve as a facilitator, but I don't trade him now because he's not at Chris Paul's level in terms of facilitator.

You are correct BC, the Suns need a passing PG but I would be looking for one to backup Bledsoe. Maybe someone to groom for the future. The problem has not been Bledsoe but the two PG system. Anyway, Bledsoe would not have much trade value at the moment. His stats are quite good with the Suns.

In regard to Tyson Chandler, I think he would be a much better player if someone could properly throw him a lob pass. The Suns need to fix this, even for Len. Bledsoe is only 26 so there is a lot of room for him to improve. The Suns need to get away from the PG always having to create offense by the drive penetration.

Below is a link to Bledsoe's stats.

BC. Can I appeal to you? Its hard to have a reasonable conversation with you when you use this type of inflamatory language on a regular basis. Its just name calling.

As far as Bledsoe and Knight being gone, I am fine with that. Knight is not a pg and at this point I have doubts that Bledsoe's knees can last long enough to be useful for the rebuilding time frame of this team. Bledsoe has value but it is now. His age is OK, but his knees are not.

Phil Jackson only wants to run the Triangle offense. Thibs doesn't run the triangle, and probably doesn't want to deal with Jackson's micro-managing style. Phil will probably go after Walton or Shaw.

Point well taken. I originally typed "Sarver and his stooges" but changed it to "...puppets".

I have never name-called a fellow poster, because we are all entitled to our opinions.

But as a long time fan, I resent what Robert Sarver has done to our franchise. And the novices he has gone through at the GM and Head Coach positions to maintain his superiority.

When Hornacek shared with the Press (public) that he met daily with the owner and GM to choose the nightly rotation, that inflamed me.

I did not catch that. What was your source on Horny meeting with Sarver daily?

I don't think Horny said the word 'daily' but he definitely said the three discussed lineups.

If I was the owner, I would want to talk about that stuff too. But just to find out what the coach was thinking. I would not have sign off on it. Not sure having the disussion is a meddling owner. Of course, the Kieff situation is special case. I would imagine Horny would want upper management input on that.

Its not necessarily a horrible situation, depending on the actual inside story.

Hornacek told the Press at the time that Sarver met with McDonough and him regularly to choose the rotation for the next game.

To me that symbolized that the owner hired an inexperienced GM and inexperienced Head Coach in order to keep them under his control. And look where it has gotten the Suns.

The most involved NBA owner is Mark Cuban and there has been no news that he and the GM meet prior to each game to micro-manage the decisions of the Head Coach.

A confident owner oversees the business and lets the people he chose do their jobs. It is why I believe that as long as Sarver owns the Suns, there is no hope, no matter how many coaches and players he turns over. And he has sure been turning them over.

And, guys, in everything else in my life, I am an optimist. I have met people whose philosophy is, "Never hope for the best. Then you won't be disappointed." I always expect the best! But you have to be a realist, too.

You're right, it was ambiguous. In fact, I mentioned in a post that I took it as Jeff sharing the 'credit' for the lineups he was using. Or maybe I just thought I should post that.

Horny said that? Jesus. We're just screwed until Sarver sells the team or dies.

He didn't say it.

should have taken that comment with a bag of salt, considering the source.

that said, it wouldn't really surprise me if true. I believe Sarver and McD to both be that big of idiots.

I listened to that interview. A few of us tried to keep one poster from turning it into something it was never intended to be. We failed. Here's the fairly mild comment and quote that led to today's misunderstanding:

And if the Suns ultimately decide Morris will not be able to get over whatever it is that’s holding him back, those trade rumors could at some point become a reality. One would think it’s difficult to market Morris if he’s not on the floor performing, but Hornacek said there is no directive from above to play — or not play — the forward.

“We’re a group, not only Ryan (McDonough) but Robert (Sarver) will talk about things,” he said. “So it’s not just on one person saying this or that. It’s kind of a group discussion and we all try to figure out what’s best for the team.

I remember him saying that about some specific issues regarding Markieff, but not the regular daily rotations.

Yep. Thats a big stretch to say that Horny consulted daily on lineups. He was just trying to communicate that the upper management talks with one another, as they should.

Especially given the circumstances surrounding Markieff. There are times when the best interests of the franchise might not perfectly align with the best interests of the Head Coach, game to game. It was reasonable to ask him if he was being forced to spotlight Markieff so the team could trade him and his answer was a polite way of saying "there's been discussions but it's still my call".
