I know a lot of posters on this board are all for Turner but his inconsistency and potential long term health issues scare me. I know Portis may not be the rim protector Turner potentially is but I think he is a much safer pick and better overall talent. Guy was the SEC player of the year and potential #1 pick Karl Anthony Towns was in the same conference.

I'd love for the Suns to have a chance to draft Turner or Portis. I'm afraid the Suns might consider Frank Kaminsky.

*Spears compares Porzingis to Kevin Garnet
*Spears has Mudiay falling out of the top 5
*Keep an eye on Cameron Payne, Spears compares Payne to Damian Lillard

NBA Draft Net compares Porzingis to Bargnani (ok) & Pau Gasol (not a chance).

Mudiay to John Wall - I see this as neither has a jump shot but can get to the basket with ease, explosive, bouncy.

Payne to Lillard - Spot on.

The Suns aren't drafting Turner unless the med staff knows they can fix the running thing. He has huge upside.

A nice idea was created among the sbnation team writers where the writers acted like GMs.

Basically the Suns traded Bledsoe for #6, Collison, Thompson and then traded #6, #13 and Reggie Bullock for #3 to draft Russell.

Later they traded Marcus Morris to Cleveland for a pick to draft Montrezl Harrell..

Finally they arrived at this depth chart

PG Knight, Collison
SG Russell, Goodwin
SF Tucker, Warren Granger
PF Keef, Harrell
C Len, Thompson

Imo however Russell is a more natural PG than Knight and thus Knight should not be re-signed and Russell/Goodwin be the backcourt. Also Tucker needs to go.

I think it would be the right move to completely rebuilt though I doubt that happens.

And I also think that trading up from #6 to #3 should not cost the #13 pick but the Morri instead.

Wait a minute. You just told me in another thread that my low assessment of the Morrises' value was manure. Now you're saying that the two of them put together would be a smaller sacrifice than the #13 pick. Which is it?

You said their value was "minimally positive at best".

Do you think a #13 pick is "minimally positive value"?

Yes, of course! A lot of late lottery picks don't last more than a couple of seasons, and of players taken at #13 over the past several seasons, MkMorris is probably the pick of the litter (which isn't saying much).

If we keep #13, I think Devin Booker is the guy I would want. Yes it once again creates a log jam at SG but whatever, I'm still hoping the Suns past the dual combo guard offense sooner than later.

Some concern for me is that the Suns beat writer, Paul Coro, seems locked onto the idea of Suns drafting Frank Kaminsky. I think Kaminsky will be available at #13. Bobby Portis was still available in his mock. Hopefully it is a smoke screen but I am not so sure. I'd prefer Portis. I think Kaminsky will have trouble on offense and defense in the NBA because he is not the most mobile player. I see him as no more than a career backup center.

Another immature 18 year old shooting guard that we have to wait for for years. Archie all over again.

Frank Kaminsky worked out for Indiana, Detroit, Sac, Miami, Phx and Knicks. Not Charlotte. But doesn't matter. Hornets like him a lot.

and then there's this news....

Adrian Wojnarowski Y! Sources: Charlotte's shopping Cody Zeller hard for wing players. If Zeller gets moved, Frank Kaminsky will be serious candidate at No. 9

Love it, the Hornets are trying to move Cody Zeller so they can make room for Cody Zeller 2.0.

That said, I'd accommodate them. If they're looking for a veteran PJ Tucker for Zeller would be a fair swap. That might sound like homerism, and maybe it is, but its more based on a low estimation of Zeller's value. Tucker is a quality role playing wing, either a sub par starter or a solid guy off the bench and he is on a reasonable contract. I don't think Zeller should command more than that.

I wouldn't mind Cody Zeller as a backup center.

Booker can flat out shoot though. That's his biggest strength. Big difference from
Goodwin.

2. Frank the Tank is on fire. Phil Jackson loves him. So does Vlade Divac. Michael Jordan won't pass on him at 9. 4-9 his new range.
3. If the Kings pass on Willie Cauley-Stein, he could be in free fall. I think Pacers could pass at 11. Could go 13. Could go 21.

1. Trades could dramatically shake-up the draft order. Lakers, Sixers, Knicks, Magic, Kings, Hornets, Pacers all talking trades

After reading Paul Coro, I'm thinking Montrezl Harrell may be the Suns fall back position for big men. I don't think he is near the Suns first choice but if the players the Suns like are gone, the Suns might go to him to strengthen the PF position. So Gambadoro may not be too far off base. This kid can bang and rebound.

After watching his Draft Express video on YouTube I am a fan. Looks like a potential Draymond Green clone but more explosive. Harrell would be my back up if Portis is somehow gone. If Harrell were 6'10 he'd be in the Top 5 of this draft.

I think he is going to be a beast on the boards. He has a reputation for dunking the ball and he can rebound. This should translate to the NBA.
