Clearly Keim loves small school guys with superior athleticism

Greg Toler, Justin Bethel, John Brown and now this guy

I sure hope he turns out.

I like it when you put it this way.

Hundley would have been a great qb prospect to develop and part ways with LT. Dont see too many stud QBs coming out anytime soon.

LOL'd a lot during that highlight video. Literally a man among boys in those small school matchups.

Beginning of the video - he reminded me of Dockett. Looks like a high energy guy that can create hype.

It will be interesting to see who gets cut from the DL this year. They have a lot of talent and only so many spots.

They're going to give LT the benefit of the doubt and give him an opportunity. They must like the kids' attitude. I hope he's studying well. It's about translating it out onto the field/executing. Their going to see this pre-season if he's advanced well enough.

I swear some people. Why would you give up on Logan Thomas when that pick was made it. Was for 3 years from then not now he's an extremely raw prospect.

Reminds me of Rob Housler pick. A small school prospect who was drafted a couple rounds early by us because he ran really fast for his size.

Yeah, but Gunter doesn't have to be able to catch the ball so we should be good. ;)

I feel like the Cards have at least one of these a draft: a guy picked in the 4th or later where the name doesn't show up in draft guides

I guess I shouldnt be surprised, but it still makes me crazy every year

I don't know him. I'm not reading the so called experts to evaluate this pick. The film did show something's. Speed, aggressive, can tackle, fast of his play once he sees the play develop smart. He played against smaller programs.

I like all the picks to this point except Golden. But most importantly we were 11-5 more than 1/2 the games without a sound running back or our starting QB. I trust the FO and Coach. These kids will be ready to go.

LT is a huge ?

I want so badly for him to get it and start to play like he showed flashes last pre-season. But he really has tons of work to do and needs to learn how to read the defense.

Nobody outside CP was able to call audibles at the LOS which hinders the offense. The QB has to know how to read the D and make the proper adjustments and know where everyone is supposed to be at all times.

I understand drafting talent over need, but our D-line is stacked right now. I don't see how Gunther will crack the rotation in the near future. Meanwhile, our LB and CB positions look pretty thin, not to mention our lack of a returner. I hope this Gunther guy is special.

I don't mind giving up a 6th and 7th. They rarely pan out. We have two 5ths anyway. Watching the video, you see very little rush technique (I played DE, and so did my son). He just bulls over players. Looks very strong. Hard to really get a gauge because of the level of competition.

He dominated all over the field without much technique. A little coaching could go a long way. Interesting pick. Head scratcher but Oh well. Its the 4th.

My bad thought you were talking about Laderius Gunter CB - The U.

I saw Gunter on the update and thought it makes sense because ARZ was linked to Ladarius, but then I noticed the first name (Rodney) and the position didn't say CB and thought WTH?

Who cares if SF would have took him, they're a mess, dude wasn't going to turn them around.

If they wanted a versatile DL, why not take Michael Bennett? He would have been a steal at #116. So ARZ gave up a 4th, 6th & 7th to move up 10 spots and take a major project.

The kid sure isn't short on confidence. He will probably be one of those guys who what he doesn't know won't hurt him. He will play just like he has in college. He will never realize he isn't supposed to play as tough now that he is in the pros. A few people just have that confidence in life. They believe they are as good as anyone and never has a doubt that they can't succeed. He will come in thinking he is a J J Watt, and will play like that never knowing he wasn't ever supposed to and no one else had the faith in him that he has in himself. I will be surprised if he doesn't succeed, and even become a real stud for us.

The kid will be a stud. He has the confidence and "what he doesn't know, won't hurt him." He believes he can be a jj watt and probably will. All he needs is the coaching to teach him the intellectual things about the game. I will be surprised if he doesn't succeed on his own faith in himself.
