Markieff has been balling for Washington this season. Helping them have one of the best records in the league and they've won something like 22 of their last 30.

Dragic also enjoying career high numbers with Miami and IT is top 3 in the MVP race right now with Boston.

If the Suns can hopefully net a top 3 pick this season, then everyone wins and successful season for everyone :)

Markieff is playing a little better but he still looks to be a below replacement level player and he's way down the list of the reasons that team is winning. But there's no denying he's stepped it up from his first half start.

Dragic is playing pretty well but his team is still just the 20th best in the NBA. Better than us, no doubt, but they also get the benefit of playing most of their games against Eastern teams so the difference isn't that great. And if you compare his stats to Eric's, it's hard not to give the edge to Bledsoe. Plus, there's a good possibility he's going all out to impress a trade suitor so he can get out of that mess.

And unless you have a different listing, I see IT as the number 6 MVP candidate right now in the KIA Race for the MVP behind Harden, Durant, Westbrook, James and Leonard. Still, 3rd or 6th, that's very impressive for the little guy.

I'm glad. Yao always seemed like a good dude, and I hope he liked representing his country because it sure took a lot of miles off his NBA career. Also cool that Houston has two of the great modern big men in the rafters.

And for those of you that are missing Isaiah Thomas, don't fret, his successor (Marcus Keene) might soon be on the way. In fact, Central Michigan has two guards that can look Thomas in the eye and either one of them can drop 30 on you on any given night. With the way the game is being played right now, I wouldn't be shocked to see another Thomas in the NBA soon.

Well, the Suns have Tyler Ulis. ;)

Wow, that is surprising that they hadn't retired it already. He got in the Hall last year and he never played for another team.

He hardly played for any team, let alone the Rockets. He logged fewer than 16,000 minutes, that's less than our career sub Dudley. He is the most overrated player in the history of the game and it's not even close. His true claim to fame was his ability to be Chinese. A very good man by all accounts but every award he's received has been driven by PR IMO.

Come on Steve, there's nothing wrong with giving praise to former Suns without having to bash them down. We've all done it plenty with JJ, with Marion, with Shaq, with Diaw, with Amare and even with Steve freaking Nash. Nothing wrong with giving a little love to these guys. Markieff is balling and is definitely one of the reasons their playing well. If you go on the wizards forum, they will agree with this. And yes Dragic's team is awful but individually he's having a great season. If your gonna discredit Dragic then might as discredit Bledsoe and Booker as well since the Suns aren't much better than the Heat. But yes, Bledsoe is still having a better season than Dragic and nobody said otherwise.

And yeah I have IT behind Harden and Westbrook. IT leads the NBA in 4th quarter scoring and has had more 20pt 4th quarters than any other player in the league and iirc NBA history as well for a season. And Durant isn't top 5 and barely top 10 as far as I'm concerned. He joined a 73 win team and is putting up great numbers because of the attention that the rest of his 3 all stars draw for him. He's still a great player and is probably a top 3 player overall but he should never be in anyone's top 5 MVP list after joining the Warriors.

Kay Felder was supposed to be the next Isaiah Thomas and yet LeBron's out there crying now because he wants another playmaker off the bench cause Felder hasn't been very good.

You have a tendency to talk glowingly about people and coaches that aren't with the Suns, especially if they are ex-Suns and you also have a tendency to harshly review those that are still in a Phoenix uniform. All I did was correct some of your comments, there was no bashing there. It was an attempt to keep your post from creating the typical Suns bashing that accompanies a post such as yours, especially when the team is struggling and people are already down about them.

And you didn't tell us it was your opinion that Thomas was 3rd in the MVP race, you made it sound like you were passing on news. I corrected it. That's not bashing.

Markieff has stepped up his game, I acknowledged that but it's ludicrous to suggest that he's anywhere near the reason Washington is playing better except to point out that he is no longer playing horribly. He measures out at a slightly below replacement level player. Saying so is not bashing.

And I'm not sure how it's bashing to point out that Bledsoe, our player, is playing at least as well as Dragic, not our player. Especially since I had already mentioned that Goran was playing pretty well.

Steve, this is the around the NBA thread. I'm merely commenting on some recent ex Suns who are now on other teams. This has nothing to do with the Suns, this is about other players around the league. I didn't even say anything about the Suns.

Scratch that I did. I complimented them on hopefully getting a top pick in this great draft and said that it would mean it worked out well for all the parties. Far from "Suns bashing".

I never said Markieff is the only reason that Washington is playing well, but he's certainly a big part of it. I'm sure neither me nor you actually watch many Wizards games and I'm just going off what their fans are saying on their forum.

And it just seems kind of random to put Bledsoe in a thread about other NBA teams. If someone were to say, "Mike Conley is having a good season" then would you respond by saying about how Bledsoe is having a better season as well?

I didn't know there's an actual ranking for MVPs right now. Isn't it all subjective until the voters actually vote and the results come out in May/June? Not sure why you would assume that me saying IT is 3rd in the MVP ranking is a fact because there's no such official ranking for it.

You seemed to think that I was going to somehow bash the Suns for merely recognizing the play of other players around the league. Sure I may if this was a thread about that but it isn't. I was just about to post how Steph Curry's brother Seth has also been playing well lately and seems to have solidified himself in the league but now I'm afraid you will take that as some kind of shot at the Suns and will respond by saying Booker is actually playing better than Seth.

I'm sorry you felt that but no, that post had no such correlation to the Suns or any of their current players. If it did, I would be specific about that in the post itself but I most likely wouldn't post that in thread dedicated for non Suns/around the league news anyway.

You are twisting what I said and misrepresenting what you said. Have a nice day.

I think more latitude needs to be given about discussing NBA players that are no longer Suns in the "Around the NBA" thread. IMO, some good stuff came from both sides of the Sunsfan88 and AzStevenCal discussion.

I don't mind hearing about former Suns as I don't keep track them that much any more unless they irritate me. :)

Maybe do a thread "Around the NBA - Ex-Suns"? I know it's late in the year this season but maybe next season that way the discussion on them can stay in one spot rather than sprinkled through a lot of different threads.
