I wish the Suns would have kept him too.
Stupid Clippers for over paying him.
It is weird how he became irrelevant after he signed with the Clippers.

I definitely wanted the Suns to keep him for the right price. The Suns were probably smart not to overpay. However, it would have been nice to find out.

Isn't that just another way of saying "I think all of it was about the money"?:) And I agree, with Thomas it was always about the money. Very gifted, very unmotivated except when he could smell the green stuff.

It was about money but I would have kept Thomas for the right price because he played well for the Suns.

So it was not all about the money.

We would of depth in the front court if Tim came back. Imagine Amare, KT, Dias, TT front court. :shocker:Ah well.

I always crack up when I see Kwame fly by on that pump fake. Idiot.

That was a sweet pump fake although Kwame obviously should have stayed home. He was so far away from TT after the fake it was funny.

The synonym for want is desire so I agree, it is nothing definitive.

Would the Celtics consider paying Thomas $179 million over 5 years?

The most likely option would come in the following summer, when Thomas could sign a max contract worth a combined $179 million over five years (topping out at $40.8 million in the 2022-23 season). If, of course, his wandering eye doesn’t lead him elsewhere in free agency.

We will see but that's a lot of money.

Is IT 29 yrs old? That quite a commitment to somebody at that age.imo

Actually he is 28 although they said he would be 34 in the last year of that 5 year contract.

Interesting. If I am the Celtics I would pay that man!;)
I mean the Suns took a gamble on a aging point guard with defensive deficiencies and that worked out very well.:)

You must have nerves of steel. Not out of my wallet. LOL

The Suns were not paying Nash that much money.

Maybe it's like wine though.

Right?!
Things I like
Not injury prone ( the tooth was a freak injury.lol)
King of scoring in the 4th quarter
Playoff proven

Things I don't like
Defensive liability
Not a natural passing pg.

The Celtics have a bunch of defensive stoppers but not any natural scorers.
It's not my money but I would nervously spend money on a couple of two way players and then spend the money on Isaiah.

That hip thing with Isaiah might might cause the Celtics to reconsider although they have Marcus Smart who looks like a player on his way up.

Also the Celtics may not want to revisit the Suns problem in Phoenix.

He's a second or third option on a championship team. You can't pay him like he's a star

I think that it sucks for him. By the time Lebron retires IT will be past his prime. The Celtics are in a no win situation.

The Celtics can have any PG in the draft and they have the Nets pick in the next draft.

I wouldn't say they are in a no win situation but the situation with IT is tricky going forward.

True.
Do you trade this years pick for Paul George? Next years pick for front court help? Tricky indeed.

Great point. The Celtics could trade the #1 pick and get great value in return.
