Chriss has a lot more skills than Davis.

Chriss can drive to the basket, shoot the 3, play above the rim..

Deyonta Davis is more of a C than a PF.

top 5. I hate the idea of risking a top 5 pick on a player who is mostly there on potential and has fairly high bust potential.

Thats the Suns M.O. I dont see that changing with these decision makers any time soon.

I'm not sure which way you're pointing to as being the Suns way? Are you saying we usually go for high bust guys or are you saying we typically avoid them? We don't have much history with high picks so I have no idea what trend you're talking about and even when we do pick, we've gone both ways. We've drafted on potential and we've drafted on current reputation and I'd say all in all we've drafted fairly well through the years.

Nah, he's been a forward, pure and simple. The only reason some people are projecting him as a center is based on the assumption he won't develop any of his skills. You could still play him as a backup center if he doesn't develop a mid-range game but really, there's nothing about him that says "center". His body and his physical skills translate well to that of a court spacing power forward, he just needs to develop his range. He has great hands, finishes really well and defends in space.

If he really ends up as a center, he's a utility guy that probably should have gone at the bottom of the round. If he can grow into his physical skills though, he could become a dominant stretch 4. I don't know why you're projecting Chriss into skills he has yet to refine but seem to be writing Davis off as a finished product? Davis was stuck behind a very good player yet was a huge surprise even in his limited minutes.

I agree that Baldwin will likely shoot up the list because of those measureables along with a guy I've mentioned a few times, Dedric Lawson. Honestly, I think Lawson could end up being one of the top players in this class assuming he stays in the draft.

I don't know much about Lawson, but I did notice he had some of the worst, if not the worst, athletic results at the combine.

Yeah, lack of athleticism has always been one of his shortcomings. I'm more concerned by his lack of scoring efficiency but he's a very smart player and he has the kind of measureables that makes you think about playing him in a Draymond Green kind of role. He's a risk no doubt, might be more of a Thomas Robinson/Terence Jones when all is said and done.

There is recent buzz that PHX could be looking at Ellenson & Baldwin IV. I like both players despite what other posters feel about Ellenson in particular from the posts I've read.

Ellenson may look unathletic, but he is pretty athletic for a 6'10 big man. He can handle the ball, he can rebound, has pretty good range on his jump shot. He may not be the freak athlete like a Chriss but he is more polished. Kevin Love comparisons appear to be warranted which could justify him getting Top 10 consideration.

Wade Baldwin IV, I think he is going to shoot up as the draft gets closer, dude is the next Russell Westbrook IMO. Freak athlete, great measurables, all around game. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the Top 10, maybe PHX takes him with their first pick.

A little something I've read, it most likely won't affect PHX, but it seems PHX has met with Brandon Ingram but not Ben Simmons. Maybe Simmons is limiting his visits and meetings but PHX is a small possibility to land the top pick so he should be covering his bases, I just find it interesting that maybe PHX if they win the lottery may not prefer Simmons over Ingram, maybe they aren't alone.

I did not hear about the buzz the Suns may be interested in both Ellenson and Baldwin. However, it makes sense as the Suns need a PF and a PG.

Ellenson may seem like a solid if unspectacular PF at the moment but as a freshman (19) there is plenty of room for improvement. He is not a finished product. I do not like the comparison to Brian Scalabrine and/or Brian Cardinal. I think this would be a worst case scenario. Anyway, I think he is a safe pick at PF.

I don't know why I'm not higher on Chriss because he has all the tools. Perhaps it's because it brings back memories of Earl Clark. Also I do not want a finesse type PF like Markieff Morris. I think Ellenson and Davis are the type PFs the Suns should look at. I don't know which one will be the best.

I don't if Wade Baldwin will come anywhere close to the likes of Westbrook but I would love to have a tough PG that can play defense.

I like Ingram over Simmons if the Suns should find themselves in this position. I can see the Suns trading out of the 1-2 pick if Ingram is not available. Actually the Suns have let it known they do not want to keep all three first round picks.

Although the Suns may not need a center I would consider Jakob Poeltl as a BPA candidate.

Chriss' measurables are impressive. 6'10" 230+. He looked like a stick figure at Washington so I figured he'd come in around 215-220. Great target if we could trade back from 3-4 or up from 12-13.

Chriss is a very late bloomer he was a guard in HS until his junior season when he had a big growth spurt. I think he's put on 40 pounds since then he's grown and filled out.

Sacramento has a history of talented athletic kids who slip through the cracks due to academics or lack of development. Chriss is a nice exception was actually a pretty good student and got much better his last year plus in HS. He went to Washington because his best friend since Grade School committed there to play football, the friend will be a soph there now and Chriss might go lottery.

If we like him enough to move up a couple spots from 13 we might as well grab him with our 4th(-ish) pick. I figure that if we do like him, this draft is weak enough that someone else will likely go that direction in front of us if we try to play it close.

I love Chriss' athleticism but I prefer a PF who can rebound, we haven't had a PF with that skill since the Marion / Stoudamire days. That is why prospects like Sabonis, Ellenson, Brice Johnson & Zimmerman appeal to me, rebounding is a skill that translates into the pro level.

Well then, why aren't you more into Deyonta Davis? I'm interested in him and Ellenson although admittedly, I know more about them from clips than I do from actually watching them day in and day out. I like Zimmerman as a long-shot prospect but I wouldn't like to see him at 13.

From what little I saw I would say they're even worse. But I believe he came to the game late so maybe there's still hope for him.

He was a guard in HS until really mid junior year so he came to playing a big late. He never had to box out before just outjumped everyone.

I am intrigued by Davis but because he was mostly coming off the bench we didn't get to see as much of him as other prospects. He says he has 3pt range but Izzo didn't let him display it. Not sure why Izzo wouldn't take advantage if he had that skill, maybe he wanted Davis to develop into a post player. Maybe it would have been better if him to play for a coach that would fit his style of play?

I like Zimmerman because he looks like he can do everything: score, rebound and defend. My concerns are how bad was his knee injury and can he play the PF position in the NBA?

Name to watch for 2017 7 footer Turkish player Omer Yurtseven who just verballed to NC State but may never play since his coach in Turkey claims he's been paid for 3 full seasons.

Yurtseven over the weekend played 38 minutes in a U-18 game and reportedly had 91 points, 28 boards and 5 assists in a game where they won 116-92!

That's one game total not the whole weekend. He's considered a top 10 recruit and a projected late lottery pick next year.

91 points!

Simmons has bust potential. No bust potential with Ingram. Made for today's NBA. Guaranteed contributor with Kevin Durant potential. Easy number one pick in my opinion.

I don't know about Durant potential but I'd probably take Ingram too. If a team met with Simmons and came away with good answers to all their questions I could see him still going first but Ingram just seems a lot safer right now.

Like to see the squad he was up against. Level of competition must have been really weak.
