I'm not the biggest Kyrie fan but Bledsoe for Irving is hardly a wash. The rest of the league would laugh at us for suggesting they were even close. Knight hasn't had a healthy month since we traded for him, the lottery picks this year are of less value than usual and neither Tucker nor Goodwin has any real trade value. If you think Len is about to turn the corner and become something special (and I don't rule this out), maybe it's a bad trade. But if you think Len is a tease, it's a great trade for us.

Yea Bledsoe may bring much better defense and rebounds to the table but I'm not sure he can dominate and put up 35 and 40 on the best team in NBA history like Kyrie has done the last two games.

Kyrie is capable of straight taking over games like he did against San Antonio when he dropped like 57 pts on them.

Like I said before, it comes down to long term injury risk and I think you may be right that Kyrie is probably less of a risk than EB at this point.

How fast we forget standout performances like EBs huge triple double on Westbrook.

Bledsoe might not give you 57 points and take 30+ shots in game.

But Irving is not going to give you 28 points on 16 shots along with 13 rebounds 9 assists and 4 blocks.

Bledsoe's really good performances are very rare... essentially they only come against Westbrook. The rest of the time he cruises and is pretty average. He might raise his game in the playoffs but we have no idea about that because we never make the playoffs - in large part because he's out injured so much. As far as I'm concerned he's proved he is not a viable starting PG.

I'm not a Kyrie fan so I've little interest in this trade but I believe PG is a position of serious need for us.

What utter non-sense.

If that was the case he wouldn't be putting up allstar caliber numbers ON AVERAGE.

well Ben Simmons isn't totally ignoring the Sixers. He is just not working out for anybody, which is odd.

ESPN sources say that the Sixers had their first face-to-face meeting Thursday with presumptive No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons on Thursday.

Some of you want us to draft Zhou Qi with the 3rd pick. Here's an interesting Reddit Post

The Case for Zhou Qi

- Zhou Qi ranks as the #1 prospect in Kevin Pelton's WARP projections, despite being #48 on the big board. Pelton's WARP projetions have been good at finding diamonds in the rough before among lower rated prospects. Some examples: In 2006 Millsap ranked 2nd in WARP and was picked 47th, Rondo rated 6th in WARP and was picked 21st. In 2007 Rudy Fernandez ranked 3rd in WARP and was picked 24th. In 2008 Chalmers was ranked 5th in WARP and was picked 34th. Koufos ranked 9th in WARP and was picked 23rd. In 2009 Lawson and Jrue were ranks 7th and 8th in WARP and went 18th and 17th. In 2010 Whiteside was ranked 5th in WARP but went 33rd. In 2011 Kenneth Faried ranked 1st in WARP and was picked 22nd and Reggie Jackson was ranked 10th and went 24th. In 2012 Draymond Green and Jae Crowder were ranked 3rd and 4th in WARP, and went 35th and 34th. You get the point. Players with top ten WARPs are almost always good NBA players, and Qi's is first in the draft this year.

- Zhou Qi has averaged the highest block rate in the Chinese Basketball Association on record. That list includes many NBA big men, and it isn't close.

- Out of 149 qualified players in the CBA, Qi's PER ranks 18th, at 22.1, great for a 20 year old. And as a 19 year old it was even better at 22.6. For reference, Mudiay finished last year with a 17.9 PER in the CBA. Qi's PER is higher than other players in the league with NBA experience, like Ike Diogu (21.3), Von Wafer (21), Hamed Haddadi (20.7), Jason Maxiell (20.5), Bernard James (20.3), A.J. Price (20.4), Andrew Goudelock (19.5), Jeremy Pargo (18.9), and Dominic McGuire (18.6). Obviously a lot of those are just fringe NBA players, or at best role players, but when you consider that Qi is 20 and most of them are between 24-33, now playing in their primes, it is impressive. It gives confidence that even if he doesn't reach his ceiling, his floor is probably high enough for him to make an NBA roster, which is not a bad outcome to get from a late first or second round pick.

- Zhou Qi has the highest offensive rating in the entire CBA. He has the highest true shooting percentage as well. It may not be the most competitive league in the world, but it is still a league that contains players like Andray Blatche, Michael Beasley, MarShon Brooks, and Dorell Wright. Those aren't scrubs. Qi is shooting over 60% from the field, and shot almost 70% the year before. That's especially impressive given the high volume of jumpers Qi takes. He also gets to the line at the second highest rate of any CBA player, and shoots almost 76% from it, another example of his touch.

- Qi is also not just a stat stuffer, and this isn't an issue of small sample size. Qi played the most total minutes for Xinjiang Guanghui, a team that went 33-12, good for 3rd in the league. Qi played more total minutes than his teammates Goudelock, Blatche, or Bryce Cotton. He finished 3rd on the team in ppg (15.8), 2nd in rpg (9.8), 2nd in spg (1.1), and 1st in bpg (3.2).

The Lakers are working out Buddy Hield again. They are the only team to see him twice.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/242282/Buddy-Hield-Has-Second-Workout-With-Lakers

It's interesting because if they drafted him they could push another player down to the Suns slot. I'm thinking the Suns would not draft Hield because of the talent they should have at SG.

I've ignored Hield for the most part because I'm confident we're not taking him and I really didn't want to get into the "too many guards" argument but I'd be very surprised if he didn't have a better career than Jaylen Brown, Brandon Ingram, Marquese Chriss and several others in this lottery. Personally I'd love to see us draft him.

I agree. But its really hard to imagine him having a better career than Brandon Ingram. The amazing thing about Ingram is that he is likely still growing. He is only 18.

I'm not as enamored of Ingram as most are. I really don't think he has the quickness to excel at the small forward position in the NBA. Unless he's willing to move to the power forward spot full time I just don't think he's going to be anything special. I think he tops out near the Rudy Gay level and I think Buddy will be a multiple year all star. But it's a different story on Ingram if he's willing to move to the PF position and if you think his body can hold up to the contact. If he can handle the 4 he could be the best player in this class.

He is never going to be a power player. But he is going to end up at 6-11-7 ft and have a huge wing span. His shooting touch is remarkable. He is also a decent defender. I think he will be a better 3, his size will make up for quickness. He is not slow by any means.

I agree with you about Hield. He will be an all-star. The Lakers are really thinking this through right now. They need a star player.

I would love for the Suns to get the opportunity to draft Brandon Ingram. Maybe I'm drinking the kool-aid but I think he could develop into a star like Kevin Durant. I really like his length and the way he moves. Actually I like him as much as Simmons long term.

If the Lakers/76'ers are dumb enough to pass on Ingram, Ainge and the Celtics will not be. Sure glad we won those last couple games.

They want to trade it - they could grab a guy high and trade him later too.

@stevekylerNBA What do you see Boston doing with the 3rd pick?

If the Lakers really want Hield, we could always trade Knight and #4 for #2. They pick up guard depth and shooting and the Lakers don't care about Knight's salary.

Ingram is not that great.

He was overrated, I dont think he separates himself from the other top prospects. I would strongly consider taking Chriss over Ingram.

Ingram gives me a bad vibe in his interviews, he just doesn't come across as sharp and prepared. He ums a lot and gives empty answers.

His FT% is cause for concern as to how good a shooter he honestly is and he lacks explosiveness.
I think Otto Porter is a realistic comparison for Ingram.

Maybe Ingram is never even going to be a SF and better suited at the 4 but he needs to add a lot of bulk.
