Good, hopefully this becomes a trend and helps small & middle market teams stay competitive when agents like Boras can't hold teams hostage and big pocket owners aren't just willing to outbid everyone and raise the already ridiculous salaries of players. There needs to be a pay scale and salary cap in baseball, its time.

How is it punishing them? They will still make a lot of money. Do you see NBA & NFL players complaining? It’s overdue, agents like Boras are ruining the game because we as fans are the ones that end up suffering, we ultimately end up paying literally especially small market teams.

How do we ultimately pay? How is MLB different than NBA or NFL in parity? The Pats have been to the AFC championship 7 straight, Lebron James has been to the NBA Finals 7 straight. That doesn't happen in MLB.

The facts don't confirm your argument and you're punishing the talent and putting more money into ownership pockets to try and make it conform. Don't blame Goldy for Kendricks cheapness.

Singling out two players at the top hardly addresses all of the players in the league. The higher they go, the higher the marginal players go.

Limited? Ask all of the public school teachers in the country who is limited. They are performing a service far more important than entertainment by a bunch of jocks.

How about a system where the value of each ballplayer is determined by an unbiased board based on performance? Then they all get paid (with the first up-to-$200,000 per year in cash and the rest in Monopoly money for bragging rights).

You don’t know about luxury tax, it’s cool. It’s not that owners are cheap, they just don’t want to reach luxury tax land which happens when you have multiple 9 figure contracts at the same time. Obviously big market team owners may not flinch at luxury tax but most small market teams can’t afford to.
