Here’s my newest nightmare. We have the worst record... lose the lotto and get the 2nd pick with Memphis getting the first. Kawai pushes out of SA. Memphis trades the first pick for him...

And the Spurs take Ayton, jumping us for the next D-Rob like they did in 88, Pop make him a superstar and new twin towers with Aldridge and we take Doncic who ends up a Darko-sized bust.

I think the Grizzlies might trade down at #1 getting more assets but I don't think they trade for Leonard with Gasol being age 33.

I'm considering a poll for this board:

Which bothers you the most?
(Pick One Only)
  • Luka Doncic as a Top 3 Pick
  • Elfrid Payton's Hair
  • Brandon Knight
I'm only half-joking here. I'm curious what the results would be! :)

I can give you my response right now, Elfrid Payton's Hair. :wink2:

I know it's not even one of the options I made up, and it's largely irrelevant, but I still vote for Mike James. :)

Why? They didn’t trade Conley or Gasol to get more young assets, which makes me think they believe this was a sacrificed season. If they can turn that into an MVP Candidate, they actually could have what I.T takes to make a real run. If Conley/Leonard/Gadol are your big three, if they can add a couple nice role players, that team has O, D and ability to stretch the floor, that’s a damn good team.

He certainly caused some upheaval on the Suns forum but I'm not so sure if the Suns have improved the PG situation much.

I guess I do not want to share in your nightmare. LOL

Ayton in a Spurs jersey and LeBron in a Lakers jersey. The Suns fall to fifth in the draft, take super-promising JJJ and immediately begin to ruin him after signing Jason Kidd as the head coach. All other picks (including 2021 Heat pick) are combined to move up and take Mikal Bridges. He looks fantastic in his first summer league game, at the end of which he suffers a knee injury that makes Shaun Livingston's injury seem inconsequential.

They back up the Brinks truck for IT, who clashes with Booker because he sees this as HIS team. Ten games into the season, a new tank thread is started, and it is the longest thread for next season. Elfrid Payton re-signs for $10 million as the back-up point guard and decides to grow his hair out more. Robert Sarver finally decides to sell the team...to Donald Sterling, who immediately touts Kidd's revolutionary "three-point-guard system" featuring IT, Payton, and Knight.

So if the Suns get the #1 pick, do they trade it for Leonard?

No way. We’re too young. And I don’t think we have the brains up top to put the right team around him like the Spurs.

I feel the same about this. I keep the pick or consider trading down slightly. I'd like to somehow get two of the top 7 picks.

I’ll be honest... I am PRAYING for LeBron to end up on the Lakers. Most of my Laker fan friends LOATHE him and want no part of him. So... that’s good.

Even better is I believe even with Bron and George, they’re STILL not close to this GS team which means all my Laker fan friend will be forced to cheer AND LOSE with Bron, which will drive them completely insane.

Dude... if we get that first pick and trade it away, brace yourself for hell hath no fury more than any woman ever scorned from Cheese.

Ayton is the first pick for us. Slam-dunk. No questions asked, IMO. You then have the perfect trifecta of the shooter, the slasher and the big man. Even this team couldn’t screw that up.

I don't see a trade down scenario so I think you are safe. Next to Ayton I like Bagley 2nd.

McD already said that he is not trading that first pick.

I like Ayton first pick. Hopefully Tankathon is right and we like have Bagley available no matter where we pick.

I'm watching Kansas versus Duke. Kansas is having their way with Duke but I am so impressed with Bagley. He moves so well for a big man.

Carter has been limited due to foul trouble.

Yup. As long as we get 1 or 2, I think we’ll be set for our big 3 building blocks for the future.

I’m obviously praying it’s Ayton but Bagley is potentially a great big man to give us an inside threat moving forward.

Ayton and Bagley are 1 and 2 in my book.

Don't wanna jinx anything but I wonder who we'd select at #3. I'd like to go with Porter but his back issue scares me and makes me lean Doncic.

Grayson Allen misses a shot at buzzer that almost went in the basket. Overtime.

Carter missed an easy shot earlier.

The back issues worries me as well about Michael Porter but I will leave this to the Suns medical staff.

Depending on who the Suns draft, the Suns might want to look at his brother,Jontay Porter, with the Heat or Bucks pick.

Bad foul called on Wendell Carter for blocking. He was there well a head of time. He is another draft prospect I like for the Suns.
