Ariza and Daniels for Rubio? Sign me up.
Yeah, makes the team pretty thin up front. Ariza is the closest thing to a 4 the Suns have but I’d still do it.

I don't know - is Rubio who you want the suns to get as their long term PG?

If we trade for him - he will be the front runner to resign with us.

I was honestly hoping for better in FA than him. He was kind of a fallback option to me.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I might rather do a Fultz deal than Rubio for Ariza. The potential upside is so much higher.

Rubio is playing like crap lately - have you looked at his recent game logs, and his 37% shooting on the year.

Yes I understand that.

I just think Ariza has more value than this.

Rubio is a guy I know will sign with us if we offer him enough in the off season. A trade is not required.

I think I would actually rather use ariza to trade for somebody under contract beyond this year - or someone better than Rubio.

How about fultz and TJ Mcconnell for Ariza, melton and the Milwaukee pick or something like that?

No, he probably is not the long term answer but he would add some veteran stability. Fultz would be destabilizing. I don’t see either of them as the long term answer. We could just develop Elie as best we can and get a pg in free agency next summer.

Right now, Ariza has no value. Everyone else knows he wants out, and it's only a matter of time before he forces his way off the roster.

Utah was really good last year with Rubio. Fulton is a basket case and McConnell<Rubio. Why would the Sixers trade both of them.

I think Warren is more of a 4 than Ariza but we really wouldn't lose much sliding Bridges to SF and Booker back to SG. Warren has been the starting PF since Anderson has been benched. Ariza missed a few games in there and they didn't plug Anderson in to fill that gap, Bridges did. Rubio at PG would be a huge upgrade. I don't think we'd be a playoff team but I could see us surpassing 30 wins on the season, which may be difficult as is. There are 61 games left, and they need to win 26 or more to hit 30 wins on the season. 26-35 is doable, so long as they don't tank, but I don't see that happening without adding a real starting PG.

I agree. Trading Ariza for a legit PG is definitely a net gain.

I was doing some more research on Fultz today.

The whole situation is really weird. When he first went to training camp last year I really think his shoulder was legit hurt, because on video it looked like he could not raise his arm up correctly.

However, this season the way he is dunking, driving for layups etc., I really am wondering if there is anything physically wrong anymore. I am actually thinking no, since there is a practice video from this season where he is sinking 3 pointer after 3 pointer with no issue, and he appears to have zero issue with arm movement.

I am now thinking most likely his problem right now is almost totally the yips.

The thing with Fultz is he is not a very good distributor, probably about the same as Okobo actually.

I was watching his summer league highlights before he got hurt, and 60 - 70 percent of his scoring was actually jumpers - and he looked like a pure shooter.

I don't know he is a total enigma.

I actually think now his latest claim of shoulder injury is just an attempt to get traded, because he is pissed about the Jimmy Butler trade.

There was an article today in a philly paper basically trying to sell fans that a trade for Ariza is the right move. I am getting the feeling if the suns feel ok with him after doing some homework this is the trade that will happen.

That is just not true.

He does have value to playoff teams that are going off his history as a legit 3 and D player.

I’m ok with this too. It’s not like the Suns aren’t already the worst team in the world. No pressure here.

He wouldn’t be the first vet to wake up after getting traded from the worst team to a good team.

The deal fell apart due to someone in the Suns front office shutting down the deal ...

So... Sarver? I'm really curious about how that all went down. Maybe McD wanted SGA but Sarver (or Jones) wanted someone that was more likely to be a contributor right away in Bridges?

I’m sure they could of.

Personally I like the combo of bridges and Okobo more.

It doesn’t seem like it right now but pg are easier to find than players like bridges

I would have preferred the Suns drafted a point guard early. Shai was one of the point guards I liked. I'm not prepared to say Bridges will be better that Shai.

I still think Okobo was the right the selection at #31.

I'm not buying that Shai trade. Seems convenient for Gambo to make that claim now. Why not a month ago, why not before McD was fired? The timing of the "news" is off.

According to Gambo, who we all know has pretty direct sources, that is exactly what happened. And it was Sarver, not Jones.

And my response then...

I remember McD hyping up Bridges hard at the introductory press conference and he's the sort of guy that is fairly easy to read. I didn't get the idea that it was a move he didn't want to make. He explained the process in detail of how the deal came about and then hyped him up some more as being someone who can help now and later, plus he would help create the new mentality of winning we're building. It seems odd for this news to come out now when all accounts prior were that McD loved Bridges and did whatever he could to get him here. This is the first time anything else has been said.

I don't recall Bridges every getting a workout here either. He wasn't falling to 16 and he also wasn't going at #1. There was no reason to work him out. All of the prospects that the Suns brought in for workouts were mentioned, as far as lottery talent goes. So the idea that Bridges won over Sarver in a workout seems odd also. If he was a U of A player then I might buy it but he's not so there is no connection to Sarver, at all.
