Ah, it is so good to see the D-backs site coming back to life, now that Spring Training has almost begun.

I have been a baseball fan since I was 11. Being raised back East, the first smell of spring and baseball activity were magical.

I later became an NBA fan as well. Of course, the Suns tanking hasn't helped change that perception.

It just feels good. Even though we have the smell of spring all year long. Go D-backs! :dbacks::dbacksnake:

Entering 2018 with the 16th highest team salary, with 15 players making more than $2 Million... versus only 9 in 2017 and a team salary that ranked 26th overall! I would say that ownership and management are committed to winning!
Of course, with $13.5 Million going to Tomas... it's hard not to imagine where that money could've been better spent! Ughhh....

Isn't that simply the byproduct of arbitration eligible players hitting at the same time? They didn't sign these guys to more than $2M salaries. They just had to pay the ones they had more.

Yea... in part. The Dbacks lead the majors with 15 players being arb. eligible. Though, I guessing the bumps the team gave to certain players is likely less costly than what those players might have grabbed had they gone into arbitration...

5-1 Milwaukee at the end of 8. But then, I'm not too concerned when pitchers and hitters off the bench who will not be part of the active roster don't produce. Until I see the box score, I'm assuming that was the case.
