how? It's not our pick. You can't put protections on a Miami pick. If it conveys, it conveys. it's not like if Miami gets a top 3 pick that year it can be protected and we get it and they Miami's the next year.

You can put protections on the pick. It just becomes our pick in a future year if conditions aren't met

They can offer the lesser of our pick and the Miami pick that year. That's the only sort of protection they can really do. Unless they worked a deal where it's protected like 1-10 and if it doesn't convey they get the Suns pick in 2022, which I can't see happening. Offering the lesser pick between ours and Miami's would make me feel better about the trade but not by much.

McDonough doesn't care about the 2021 draft, because if he can't turn this ship around he won't be here.

Lonnie Walker would of been a better pick than making that trade.

But who knows, by 2021 we could be picking in the 20s... not impossible.

Though it could be a strong draft if HS players are eligible.

How many picks do we have left in the first round? 1 or 2 ? I’m confused

Mikal is a fantastic player. He is more complete than JJ. There are many that think he could end up being the best player in this draft. When you have a chance to get a player like that, you grab him. We could only hope that Miami pick could yield a player like this.

IMO Lonnie Walker is going to be a total disaster. He hits all the marks of wreckless, bad, selfish NBA guards.

It just seems weird. We were on the clock and Philly comes in at the last minute, seemingly desperate (but who really knows) to make a trade, and we end up giving up our best future asset?

Somehow I think we should be fleecing them, not them asking for a ton.

The Suns must love Mikal Bridges to make this trade.
