Seems to me to be a good deal from the Pistons perspective. They even got protection on the first round pick they sent out.

Bradley is just an expiring. Tobias Harris and Boban plus a protected first and a second for Blake. We could have done way better than that.

That was a foolish deal on the Clippers part. Maybe there is an injury issue. With Blake there always is.

I have to think Tobias Harris was a piece for the Clippers that made the trade attractive. Maybe the opportunity to keep Bradley was alluring as well.

New Orleans and Chicago had a deal for Nikola Mirotic, but it's fallen apart for now, league sources tell ESPN.

Chicago and New Orleans don't need Mirotic's permission to make trade should his $12.5M team option in 2018-19 get guaranteed with a trade. Without that salary guaranteed prior to finalizing trade, teams need Mirotic to agree. Otherwise, Mirotic likely becomes a rental for Pels.

The Mirotic/Asik deal straight up would not have worked because of the hard cap situation in New Orleans. The Pelicans are $1.2M below the hard cap. Mirotic has a salary of $12.5M and Asik $10.6M. Both players have $1M in unlikely bonuses.

I don't think it's time for a fire sale in New Orleans. Even if they and Cousins decide to part ways, the best arrangement for both sides will be a sign-and-trade. They aren't going to lose him for nothing.

I think this helps New Orleans. They will sign him and pay him and all sing *** bay yah. They already have a relationship with him and they want him. Other teams will think harder. When you are injured, you tend to stick with what you are familiar with.

Yep, I would bet almost a 100% guarantee he resigns there. Besides the fact he couldn't get as much money going anywhere else (especially now with injury), there is no evidence that he doesn't like it there, certainly more than Sacramento... and he seems to have straightened out his head, at least for now. As long as Davis stays, they are still probably just one more solid piece away from being legit contenders in the West for next few years.

This was reported widely yesterday, including here. Without option getting picked up, Mirotic won't agree to Pelicans trade. And Pelicans have tax concerns w/ plans to re-sign Cousins so aren't amenable to doing so. Doesn't sound like stances will change for now (or ever?)

By no means do I want the Suns to pursue an aging Kevin Love who is out injured for 6-8 weeks.

However, he is an example of an injured player the Suns might pursue via trade who would not hurt the Suns lottery chances if he were to stay out injured the rest of the season.

Other type trades the Suns might pursue are young players for second round picks and trades improving the Suns cap space this summer.

Again, I do not want Kevin Love.

The Suns aren't signing any big names. If the Love situation in Cleveland is bad enough that you could lowball them with Monroe, Chriss and a late pick it would almost by like signing him as a FA. He sits out to rest his injury and you're adding Kevin Love plus a top-5 pick to next year's team.

I can't come up with a good example that fits the Suns but let's say if Blake Griffin (prior to the trade) was injured for the season, the Suns might have shown more interest in trading for him.

The Suns are not interested in improving before the draft. They are looking long term.

Again, I'm not interested in Love.

As trade discussions involving Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyreke Evans intensify, front office plans to sit him out until a deal is completed, league sources tell ESPN. He'll start sitting vs. Pacers tonight. Trade deadline is next Thursday.

Greg Monroe is not with the Suns tonight. Something might be in the works. Perhaps a trade or buyout.

Scott Bordow is saying Monroe has been bought out.

The only reason I think the Suns buyout Monroe now is out of respect and give him time to find another team.

The other is the Suns might be wanting to add another player.
