In other words, I am hoping some team finds an expiring contract MORE valuable than the Suns do.

Me too, but other than the Lakers (who might become desperate enough at trying to dump Clarkson and/or Deng as much that we could benefit) I can't think of any other team which might.

Not a big fan of Walker on this roster. He isn’t a great facilitator, not a good defender and not all that good of a 3 point shooter. The last is probably the biggest issue I have with him because we desperately need better 3 point shooting.

Hornets are a joke. The only team that drafts worse then the Suns. Trading their best player would be a killer to the fans here.

Oh no doubt! It has value, but with all the teams having overspent in the last couple of years, I keep hoping something will be available. In other words, I am hoping some team finds an expiring contract MORE valuable than the Suns do.
I suppose. I just really wince at taking on some other team's mistake contract. But the Kemba Walker situation is the type of situation we are talking about.

Charlotte is willing to part with its best player just to get out of bad contracts. Just horrible.

Its like the Lakers dumping DAR to get out of a bad contract. Better to sign no one than generate a bad contract. McD isn't perfect, but things could be a LOT worse.

If we are patient and the hornets can’t move walker in-season, he becomes the perfect post-season target (although I wish he were a more prolific three point shooter).

Waiting until seasons end allows us to continue to drop in the draft (hopefully). Post draft we would know if we acquired a big or a pg. if we landed doncic, young or Sexton then we wouldn’t trade for Kemba. If we landed ayton, bagley, porter, or bamba or JJJ then by all means trade a future 1st and either chriss or bender )the one the suns have less hope for) and take on a single Bad contract. Who knows, at that point Kemba will be on a one-year contract so Carolina might not even be able to demand a 1st and a young player.

That would result in:

Kemba
Booker
Warren
Chriss
Ayton

Ulis
Reed
Jackson
Bender
Chandler
Troy
Len
Canaan

A big three of
Booker
Ayton
Kemba

With that supporting cast could do damage. And damage for a LONG time.

All true, if suns trade in middle of this season and sacrifice draft position it will be an all time horrible move and scrapping of the plan they've been working on for 2 years.

Hopefully we have smarter people than idiot gamb o in the front office

Even Gambo doesn't seem to think it's a smart path:

Oh...I think he was actually referencing trading the Suns first round pick now that I'm listening to the show. No.

They don't seem to realize that trading for Walker essentially is giving up any chance of a top 5 pick.

That's a non-starter. If Gambo were smart, I could hypothesize that what he was really saying was that acquiring Walker would threaten to move the Suns' pick out of the top five even if they kept it, so they would be "giving up" a top-five pick in that sense. But since he isn't smart, I'm sure he was just talking out of his Trump as usual.

Yeah. Listening to his show, it was clearly the latter.

Yes. I think this is probably the wisest path.

The thing I worry about with Gambo, he often reflects the Suns thinking because of his link to Sarver.

I'm not liking the Walker trade idea at least until after the draft and then I would want his contract extended before the trade if that is possible.

However, possibly the Suns might be thinking a bird in hand.

FWIW, he didn't want to trade the Suns pick, but he also didn't seem to fully analyze what trading for Walker would do to that pick.

I'm at the point where I don't want the Suns to do anything to hurt their draft status this year, but then I want them to begin actual team construction and go all in next year whether they get one of those top picks or not.

At some point, you have to go all in. You could argue that this is the year to start that if it weren't for next year's class. However, next year I think they should be aggressive towards building a winning team, which would include going after the Kemba Walkers of the world.

This thinking is flawed as you point out. The Suns can't trade for Walker and expect a top five pick.

It sounds like Gambo is just talking.

Gambo is good at breaking news, otherwise he is a moron. I literally just listened to a minute of the show and heard him say trade Chriss and bender for kemba

Yes, trade Chriss and bender and tank our chances at a top pick this year. I really hope no one in the suns takes him or burns seriously and view them as idiots

Not sure a single poster on sadness (hah that’s what autocorrect came up with for “asfn” . . . “sadness” lol) would disagree with any of that.

The Cavaliers have allso registered trade interest in the Clippers’ Lou Williams, according to league sources, with Cleveland vets such as Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith featuring in various trade proposals.

He could develop back spasms or a pulled groin, perhaps? A flu/ cold a couple of times?
In that case . . .

(A) The league, team and fans would be gullible enough to believe it or

(B) "They're pulling a "Bledsoe" again." And we'd retain our title of the biggest buffoons in the league.

Scott Bordow on the likelihood of the Suns trading for Kemba Walker in a tweet to questioners.

1 percent. Just don't see it happening. Suns don't want any bad contracts, which will be attached to a Walker deal
