That's a tough call for the league. Suspending him virtually hands the series to the Jazz but not suspending him would be showing favoritism. Since he was waiting to check in before the altercation the issue is a little iffy.

That kind of lenience has been fairly commonplace since the Stoudemire/Diaw suspensions. I think the league realized that they made a mistake there, and they can't make up for it, but they can try to avoid repeating it.

Because this is a reasonable response. The stuff that happened years ago with Amare and Diaw was not. Silver is much better than Stern in that way.
