Yeah I love Darnold's physical tools, he's not polished but he's young and appears to be able to learn.

I haven't seen too much of Jackson but if people don't like darnold because USC QB's tend to not be great, isn't it true that Louisville has had a run of stat fantastic QB's and none of them have panned out in the NFL?

I read an article today that said Rosen is the most NFL ready, it surprised me they were talking about his ability to see the field and find the open man, that IMO was his biggest issue his first 2 years. I don't know how many times I'd see a replay and there's a guy wide open he never saw.

UCLA is in a more wide open passing game offense not to the level Cal was in recent years but close, his stats are going to be better but I still have some questions.

But I do think this is the year to get a QB.

The big concern is our schedule, 49ers twice, Colts etc, we are almost assuredly going to win too many games to get a QB without moving up, what do we trade?

Darnold was a 2-way player in HS and played LB at San Clemente according to others nights broadcast. I'm a full believer in the hype but I wouldn't rule him leaving SC after this year.

Palmer, Leinart, Booty, Barkley and Kessler all stayed at least four years with the exception being Sanchez. Based on Rosen's comments he's as good as gone.

Luke Falk of WSU is also a prospect. Another air raid guy but at this point all QB options are welcome. ARZ should even consider making a run at Garrapolo in FA.

Darnold brings the ball down to start his throw. Kind of like a wind up. In the NFL the Dline will knock down a lot of those throws. Is it correctable? Does anyone else see what I was seeing?

Yes that's teh Bortles thing and USC coaches spent the whole offseason working with him on that it's been a hot topic in So Cal news all offseason.

Obviously he's still got it so you are correct, but they're working on it.

Glad it wasn't just me seeing that. Hope the kid can correct that motion. If not I don't see a future in the NFL.

He's the classic guy that spending a few weeks with Jeff Tedford would do wonders for him mechanically. People used to joke about Tedford producing Robo QB's but that's why he taught them all to hold the ball the way he did, so they don't drop the arm in that circle.

I also that article was interesting with Jordan Palmer mentioning how carson has had arm issues in his career because he is so dependent on arm strength, meaning he tends to throw without using his legs and core as much as he should.

I was actually surprised to see that Darnold had worked that much with QB coaches, what I'd heard and read in the past suggested he really hadn't had a lot of that private coaching stuff, sounds like he's had more than I thought.

I think the best current college QB who fits BA's offense is Trace McSorley of Penn St. He's tough, has good size, pocket presence, is a fiery competitor and throws a great deep ball. Plus, he's mobile. He reminds me a lot of Carson Wentz.

Allen may be a victim of losing to many weapons from last year's team. His top 3 receivers from last year are gone so he may not have a great year statistically. Scouts will have to base talent on tools rather than production.

No way. I'm a huge Penn State fan, but Trace McSorley is not an NFL talent. Not at all. Which is good for Penn State, because he'll stay as long as possible.

BA's offense needs to be retired in its entirety. The deep game relies on a solid receiving corps, a strong accurate quarterback, and an offensive line that can hold well and give plenty of time for deep plays to develop. We have none of those things.

Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma, reminds me a lot of Drew Brees. Not a big guy but moves around well in the pocket and has a strong arm. Very accurate thrower. Plays with lots of emotion.
He is listed as 6' 1" 220 lbs.
I still say he's more like Russell Wilson than Brees because he creates plays when guys are covered. His release is really quick like Brees though.

Luv the kid! I've been touting him for 2 years now. My biggest concern is he throws many balls that don't flutter & don't have great spirals on them, but hey so did Kurt Warner

Don't think BA would want him as he doesn't fit his system. However, BA may not be here next year. (could retire)
At some point BA is either going to have to change his philosophy on mobile QBs or Keim is going to overrule his ass. Pass rushers are just getting to athletic to have Palmers & Mannings behind center.

Mason Rudolph should be added to the list
I've been touting this guy since last year. 6 foot 5 230 lbs, pretty mobile. Look up his td/int ratio it's off the charts. Extremely accurate. I don't understand why this guy doesn't get more pub....
