Exactly why I would seriously think about hiring Riley as my NFL coach if my team drafted Baker!!! I know that's way out there but I would do my homework & interview him if he's interested

Or hire Darrell Bevel
There's no way Riley leaves Ou, and hopefully Mayfield goes elsewhere anyway. Here's a link on top 4 qbs with scouts perspective. Mayfield and Darnold pretty up and down........... https://sports.yahoo.com/heres-nfl-talent-evaluators-loveloathe-qb-prospects-rosen-darnold-allen-mayfield-015850432.html

That's what worries me about drafting Baker; he plays in such a QB friendly offense...how's he going to do in a pro-system that asks a lot more from him. Oklahoma WR's are usually so open from their awesome play design and inferior competition on defense, that Baker's life as a QB is about as easy as you can get.
I can't think of a current NFL team, that is successful, and does not have a QB friendly system.

the heisman is about being the best player in college football... not about being the most mature player, or the one with the greatest character

Their assessment of Darnold is pretty much the same as mine...will need some development yet, but has the best long term future and highest ceiling..

I agree with them on Mayfield as well...tools, tools, tools...dude has a full tool box...unfortunately he doesn't just have tools,..he is one as well.

Riley is pretty damn smart & has new wrinkles & plays each week, which is why I brought up his name. Again Bevell could do wonders with Baker considering he designs his offense around Wilson's skillet.

When's the last time you see anything new schematiclly by BA? Rarely which is the point. Our offense IMO has struggled along with the players because of its staleness.

If you think most of Mayfields production is mostly because of wide open receivers, you haven't watched many of his games. He's got great ball location & throws guys open. It's ok not to like the kid, but IMO he's the best passer & QB OU has ever had.

I’m good on Bevell. When most of a fanbase complains about one of their coaches, that’s not a good thing.

Agree on Lincoln Reilly. I was thinking that the main reason Mayfield plays in such a so-called "Quarterback friendly" offense is because Reilly is so ingenious with the design and play calling of that offense! Yes Mayfield benefits from that and the talent around him. He helps make Reilly and his Teammates look good too.

Too bad Cleveland fired their GM. Now there's probably zero chance they trade out of #1 which makes Josh Rosen unavailable.

I keep reading/hearing Lamar Jackson goes in round 2. Give me Denzel Ward in 1 and Jackson in 2.

Darnold should stay at USC one more year anyways...needs to improve his vision and decision making.

You are right, but I think that advice would be true for most draft prospects that has the option to return. I think Sam Darnold is good enough right now that after all of the mental and physical acclimation between the draft and the regular season, he could potentially play as a rookie, and certainly be a very good quarterback from year two. Things will surely change between now and the draft, but so far I am leaning toward wanting to trade up after Darnold.
