I really expect Cleveland and SF (assuming that they can re-sign Jim G.) to both trade down. Rosen might be the one guy that teams trade up for.

Teh Browns have apparently all but said they intend to draft a QB.

I do think there's a domino effect going on with SF trading for Garappolo. They were one of the favorites to get Kirk Cousins because of his connection to their coach, it's highly unlikely Washington keeps Cousins, so now you have the potential that a team like Cleveland may want to trade for Cousins instead of draft another young QB.

And if not Cleveland maybe someone like the Cards look to go get a guy like Cousins who is clearly a better player than Gabbert or Stanton and at 29 is much younger than Palmer.

yeah... but they can still trade the #1.... they also have the #5(houston).... picking the #1 is a lot of pressure

Browns will not trade down this draft. The owner himself said the priority for the new GM is finding a QB. Has to be Rosen at #1.

The draft is not the only place to find new players. In fact, the rumor is that Hue Jackson tried to trade for A.J. McCarron from the Bengals a few month ago, and McCarron is scheduled to become a free agent after this season. If Hue Jackson is retained, maybe McCarron joins him in Cleveland.

I will be shocked if 5 QBs are not selected in the top 12.

This is not really directed specifically at you. A lot of posts in this thread has implied something similar.

I can pretty much guarantee that what you think now is not the same as you think come the actual draft. It happens every year to you, me, everyone on this board, all the teams and everyone in between. That obviously don't mean that it is not fun to speculate and talk about. It's just the way it is.

I get where you are coming from Gandhi, but it is lining up to be a bit of a perfect storm for high QBs this year.

1-Teams at the top of the draft needing a QB.
2-QBs expected to be taken at the top of the draft are highly thought of.
3-The teams not at the top that don't need a QB sit between the very top and top 10 group. Makes trading in front of someone viable.

This will create a demand for QBs. It will prevent those teams high in the draft from trading too far down. It will increase the compensation for teams who have a QB looking to trade down. We will see what it looks like when the draft order is set, but right now it looks like a good number of teams will be within reach of most of these players.

This offseason is going to be historic when it comes to the position of QB. There are a lot of QB's that are going to be available as free agents that would be the top of the free agent class in year's past.

There are past draft picks that are still young that will be available via trade because of change of power at the front office.

Then you add a draft class with about 10 QB's that are worth drafting.

That is a lot of QB talent to sort through, and a lot of opportunity

Good, because we need two, at least.

and in all that... Keim has to find one...just one...who is durable, smart,...and has "it".... because we all know there is probably only one in the entire group

This is good. We need Denver to keep losing. That way, they’ll take Allen before Keim/BA has a chance to.

I am warming up to idea to bringing in two QBs either through draft only or draft & FA.

Rosen is sitting out the Cactus Bowl so he's entering the draft.

For Darnold I think it could depend on the bowl game performance. It seems like USC QB's always make the wrong choice. Leinart and Barkley should've left. Sanchez should've stayed.

as much as I would like to get him I think Darnold is going to stay in school... USC should start the season in the top 10 next year which will give them a good shot at playing for a National Championship... plus, regardless of what he has said recently, the kid really dont want to play for cleveland

According to ESPNU he is in concussion protocol and may still play. I don't know I never watch ESPN anything anymore but the Chandler / Miami bowl game is on.

To add to that they are saying Rosen said he hopes to play and has not decided on the NFL draft yet.

2nd concussion this season too. Might be a bit of a red flag, but he'll still be one of the top 2 QBs taken in this draft.

If Keim makes the mistake of drafting the wrong QB(Josh Allen), we’re going to be at the bottom of the division for a long, long time.
