Lamar had a bad game, but I don't think any other QB in the nation is dropping 30+ on that defense loaded with NFL talent. Stats may say different, but Rosen played pretty inconsistent yesterday. Darnold made some great throws, but was underwhelming against a bad Texas D, imo. Pretty much, a underwhelming day for the 2018 QBs last night.

I'll never buy into Rudolph due to the extremely easy offense he plays in while having the best supporting cast of the 3. In a conference that lacks D outside of 2 teams, too.

I disagree that the Texas D is bad. They $hit the bed against Maryland, but have been stout ever since. I watched that game last night. TX has some freaks on that D. They will be a very tough team the rest of the year.

Lamar Jackson had one of his worst games of his career against #3 ranked Clemson yesterday. His offensive line was bad again and Louisville's defense is awful this season so Lamar is playing catch-up while. Running for his life quite often.Everyone ragged on Teddy Bridgewater because of his supposed skinny frame and he got injured when a guy rolled his knee while he was in the pocket .So you can be hurt no matter what you do on the field.Pocket passer or scrambler.Ithink Lamar will need a year to grow into the NFL.He still plays a lot of shotgun QB partly because of the inability of his OLine to give him time.

Hey I'm a big Horns fan but the reality is their D isn't all that trust me! They can't defend the spread offense & nobody in the Big 12 does! Watch what happens when they start Big 12 play...stayed tuned.

Not sure about their secondary but Texas' front-7 manhandled USC. They averaged 1.9 ypc on 37 attempts and Darnold was under pressure all knight. Malik Jefferson is a stud.

It's a different animal defending the USC pro style offense vs the spread! Did you see the Maryland game? Hmmmm

IMO Malik is highly overrated. He played well his frosh year & struggled last year even getting benched at one point. He sucked against the Terps in game 1 as well.

It's basically the same personal that was one of the worst defenses in the nation last year! Worst in Lonhgorns history statically

That says a lot about SC's line then.

At least Tejas has two QB's!

To be fair, this will be a harder class to evaluate than most think.

Sam Darnold (who may not come out)
Josh Rosen
Josh Allen
Nick Fitzgerald
Lamar Jackson
Mason Rudolph
Luke Falk
Baker Mayfield

None of them are very clean at this point, and they all come with issues. Some are obviously better than others, but it is more about what the teams can do to develop, because college QBs are what they are at this point.

I will be interested to see if the Cardinals look at the FA QBs.

Damn near every QB prospect ever has came & will continue to come with issues. I know you didn't say it, or even implied it for that matter, but please don't use that as an excuse to forgo drafting one this year for 2019's class because none of them are perfect.
I really hope we draft & mold one. I also hope we really don't look for one in FA just to be ANOTHER stopgap. Especially no good ones that I can think off the top of my head.

My point was more that is is a congested group. I think Rosen and DArnold are separate, and the rest are what you think you can work with. I like the class as a whole, but it will be more about how you develop the player you pick than who you actually pick IMO.

Getting busted in Fayetteville, AR for public drunkenness makes him an arrogant jerk?
He may not make it to the NFL. That's above my pay grade. He does at times seem to have a Favreesque style about him though.
Actually, he had resising arrest and 1 other charge but as OU guys go those magically disappeared

No, he's been an arrogant jerk since he set foot on campus. .....

Every year the same "next year's QB class is better" nonsense. 2018 class actually has the same question marks as this year's "questionable class", which has looked pretty good so far btw. Don't even know if Darnold declares, and if he does so we have no shot at him since there are quite a few teams much worse than us.
We should have pounced on Mahomes who is a BA type QB if there ever was one!

Josh Allen is comparable to (although below) Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes had much more talent around him though.
Mahomes wishes he had the OLine Josh Allen does though. He's also comparable to Mahomes but without the actual skill.

I would not be surprised to see the cards make a trade for Alex Smith,...then draft a QB in the third or fourth round.

I like Darnold still...he reminds me just a bit of A-Rod in GB...the way he often relies on his arm strength rather than mechanics... coaches will hate it but getting him to change that is going to be tough.
My guess is,...whether or not Darnold declares will have a lot to do with who has the top few picks. Rumor has it he is not enamored with the idea of being drafted by the Jets, who most think will hold the top pick.... but he could always pull an eli and announce before the draft that he wont play for the Jets I guess.

Rosen throws lots of passes that would be picks in the NFL. NFL DB's are just a step faster and jump just a couple inches higher than the average college DB

seriously, "resisting arrest" is a thrown on the pile charge. He was drunk in public. Hasn't beat up his girlfriend yet, used stolen credit cards, busted on felony drug charges, et al.
