Mexico is still in it.
But the play by play guy is saying this would be a historic collapse by Mexico.

yes it would be considering everyone has been pegging them as a dark horse to win the world cup in spite of their inability to score goals(which is kind of a big deal). I love this group. I don't know who I want to see miss the knockouts more between germany and mexico...

I agree with you that it was ok. The problem is that it was the exact same call that was given the night before. IMO, they need to change the handball rule to take out the 'deliberate' part out of it. If your hand is in an unnatural position and it hits your arm, it is a hand ball.
I agree!

only question that is left is will germany score a goal. they have been so unusual with their struggle to score. HM Son can kill them off if they aren't careful.

I think I would have rather mexico go home with all of their over confidence and over hype. but this is great for the world cup! just goes to show you have to play the games and I will give VAR its due for saving this one.

korea scored off of a corner. their scorer was offside but the ball was last played by a german player so VAR rightfully overruled the linesman's decision and gave the goal.

then Neurer (german GK) was quick to go forward to try to get a goal and Son scored on an open net. 2-0 korea and germany go home.

I'm so happy with the results today. Germany played horribly in this world cup. Mexico have been humbled and exposed for their lack of quality in the final 3rd and their poor defending.

Hummels, for germany, also blew a textbook game winning header.

Delighted to watch Mexico absolutely crap its pants. How many teams can get 6 points, advance to to the knockout stages, and be in utter shambles? Mexico always find a way to screw it up. I don't see them going any further in the tourney than the round of 16. Which they shouldn't have even made it to anyway! Ugh, Germany, how you have betrayed me! lol

yeah I was really hoping germany would score. but also happy for south korea...they battled and finally got a break through. mexico were terrible today. I'm interested to see how they recover from such a humiliating loss to a team that so many people thought they would beat. I don't think their win vs. germany holds very much weight anymore given that germany were a massive disappointment overall. I see brazil beating them 2-0.
