I agree with the general idea but I'm not sure where Barrett lands in this conversation. I certainly don't put him in the Bender project group, nor the Chriss level of prospect, not the Len or even the JJ group. He has some obvious NBA skills right now, I just don't like what I've seen of the way he plays the game.

I'd compare him to Carmelo in that anyone that watched him knew he was going to be a big name in the league although many of us questioned if he'd ever be a winner. And then, of course, he carried Syracuse to a championship so some of us changed our tune but the idea is there. Both players at times have seemed to be more about "me" than "team". I waver on this because I can't believe Nash would so strongly support a player that couldn't thrive in a team environment.

Isn't RJ his god son? I'd imagine that might be a reason for strong but questionable support. My Dad's god son is a felon, but I'd bet he'd still give him a good reference to a potential employer.

RJ is an alpha personality somewhat like Booker. He has that same killer mindset that will likely make him a great player. If he and Booker could coexist peacefully than I could see it being a very good pairing, but I could easily see those two bumping heads at times.

I would put him in the Andrew Wiggins category.

Or Joe Johnson.

I'd take Joe over Wiggins. Young Joe with help around him was a very good player, he was right there if he had stuck with us. He was good on his own for a while with the Nets but could have had a better career if he'd stuck with us. Wiggins eh

I suppose, just because everyone else thinks so. His shooting from three at 30% makes me really wonder though. NBA guards and wings need to be able to shoot the three. It is essential.

If the Suns land at 3 and Morant is not there the Suns might want to consider trading the pick.

If they keep it, Brandon Clarke or Darius Garland might be a solid later picks and they fill a need.

Yeah but as someone else said he's an alpha dog, Wiggins has always had a lack of killer instinct that seems to hold him back. Great talent but not really an alpha.

Garland signed with Klutch. Yuck. Barrett has enough cache that they should trade down. They could probably get a pretty good vet or a future pick, plus the pick in this draft. Plus they would not have to pay Garland or Clarke so much.

Agree, the Suns should get something good in return if they land at #3.

Not really sold on Morant at all. Would rather pursue a vet PG or possibly even a vet PF. Melton is solid on D will improve and do fine in a rotation with Tyler Johnson next year. This team really needs to upgrade it's interior D and rebounding overall.

My son and I have been talking about D'Angelo Russel (probably too expensive), and Lonzo Ball. Young guys who could play along with the timeline in Phoenix. Julius Randle would be a nice power guy to play alongside Ayton.

Apparently Zion wants to come to the Suns. Obviously it doesn't matter as we will need the 1st pick to get him, but I thougt it was kind of cool that he wants to come here.

That would be great if true but I saw the post they're saying has since been deleted and it was an April Fool's joke that SBNation posted about Zion wanting to come to Phoenix. It had me going and I almost posted it here until I read the final line of it that revealed the truth. That said, maybe now that the media is pushing this idea, whether based on a joke or not, he'll comment on becoming a Sun.

I found the original, it wasn't SBNation, it was Fansided. I'll try and take some screenshots in case it has been deleted and I have the cached version saved still.

Here's screenshots, hopefully they post in the right order, took 3 to get everything in there.

At the very bottom of the 3rd image it explains the April Fool's Joke.

To me that's a no brainer, the Knicks don't have enough talent and being in New York on a bad team would be awfully tough on a kid that young.

And in Cleveland again not much talent and man the comparisons to LeBron would be insane. Great talent but who wants to be labelled the next LeBron like that.

In Phoenix there's young talent around him and nobody is going to expect him to carry the franchise right away.

Well the “other sports” forum is dead but man what a finish to UVA/Auburn. Did anyone know this was a double-dribble?

I guess it's probably dribbling with two hands but I wouldn't have caught it. I'd be more prone to call it traveling.

Does it have significance more than the usual call?

Only after thinking about it did I realize it was a double dribble. If a player loses control of a ball while dribbling, grabs it with two hands and starts dribbling again it’s a double dribble. So dribbling it off your own leg without someone else touching it is essentially the same thing.
