I do think Derozan would be great fit for us coming off the bench since our bread and butter is the mid range

I can't see many teams willing to give up value for Kyrie. They would have to sell for roughly 10 cents on the dollar because he's just such a head case.

I was going to say he was untradeable but then I remembered the Knicks have the cap space to absorb his contract and the Lakers would probably take him in on a sign and trade for Schroeder. The Lakers don't really have another way to bring him in. I can't see why the Nets would want Schroeder, especially at max money, or close to it.

One other scary thought I had was a sign and trade with the Clippers for Kawhi, if Leonard wants out. A team of Kawhi, KD, and Harden is more talented than KD, Irving, and Harden but less likely to suit up at the same time.

Other than those big market teams that ignore the salary cap, I don't see anyone else willing to go after Kyrie.

Yeah, it's a Knicks, Lakers or even a Mavericks type move.

I would rule out the Maverick simply because Kyrie is the last superstar I'd want around Luka. I wouldn't even flip Porzingis for him. If there are questions about Luka being a primadonna then no way do I bring in Kyrie as a running mate.

I can see the Lakers doing this with some kind of Kuzma, Harrel/Schroeder and picks to go for one more run with LeBron. And for the Nets, it’s not only addition by subtraction, but gives them a little more depth if it’s Schroeder and Kuzma.

and the Knicks could ALWAYS be this stupid and trade for Kyrie.

Booker can also play recruiter this summer and has more ammo than Tatum with this year's success and stability at HC with Monty. PHX obviously won't need a big piece this offseason, well depending on what Paul does but he could build ties that would come to fruition in a post Paul era whenever it comes.
The Suns don’t have any trade chips with the exception of Bridges who is about to get a new deal. The Celtics have Jaylen Brown under contract and all their picks starting in 22’. I think Tatum could definitely be enough to entice a superstar to play with him.

I mentioned the Mavericks simply because they are desperate for another star. A lot of other teams are better choices. That said, I think Luka is all about winning so I don't think Kyrie would take that away.

No, I get why you mentioned the Mavericks. They're not what one thinks of when people talk big market teams but they operate like the Lakers, Knicks, etc. Cuban has deep pockets and isn't afraid to spend. They're known to treat players in a first class capacity also.

I just don't like the pairing of Luka and Kyrie from a basketball, professional, or personal standpoint.

I'm talking about FA, not trades. Once Paul era ends that is a huge amount of cap space that opens up and Ayton and Bridges are Bird's Rights players so they can be signed after to fit under cap rules. Hell, depending on the timing Bridges new deal could be a S&T if PHX is going after a bigger target.

My point is Booker can start building relationships with guys who could eventually want to come to PHX. Booker and Monty are IMO a little more enticing that Tatum and an unknown commodity at this point in Udoka.

Would kyrie and Lebron even want to rejoin each other?

They made up a while ago and have been friendly for a couple of years now. I want to say there were rumors of them joining up in LA before Kyrie decided to go to the Nets but I don't know if that was legit or media speculation.

This guy can't catch a break. Golly.
Ben Simmons said he skipped out on the Olympics to work on his game.

It looks like the game he wanted to work on was spending some time with his new girlfriend Maya Jama over in the UK.

I'm thinking the Knicks turned the corner this past season but one never knows.

My recollection is a little different.

On the surface they worked it out. But there were stories about Kyrie trying to get to LA around that time and Lebron not showing any interest. Somewhere on this site is a post with an article about a phone call that interrupted Lebron's dinner - he was out with some basketball friends and the quotes from that call suggested that James had no patience for his antics again.

OTOH, Lebron is all about his legacy so who knows...

They may have just been rumors pushed by the media rather than anything coming from either of their camps. You know how the media spins stories, especially when it involves stars teaming up in big markets.

I don't recall that phone call incident you mention but its not surprising either. I just know they squashed their beef that caused Kyrie to work his way out of Cleveland. Putting that in the past isn't being willing to be teammates again but it is enough to start that speculation.

kyrie wanted out because Lebron tried to trade him. That’s how Lebron is he loves you till he thinks he can get someone better.

lebron is bullet proof as far as the media is concerned

ESPN announces Malika Andrews will replace Rachel Nichols at NBA Finals amid internal strife

Malika Andrews will work the 2021 NBA Finals as a sideline reporter for ESPN. The network announced Andrews would replace Rachel Nichols as its sideline reporter amid reports of internal strife following a leaked video in which Nichols questioned Maria Taylor's credentials.

The network made the announcement Tuesday, just hours before the Milwaukee Bucks take on the Phoenix Suns in Game 1 of the Finals.
