Interesting name to look out for Jamal Cain a 6'7" rookie from Marquette(played at Oakland before that) who can flat jump out of the gym. In a game against Memphis in preseason he scored 15 points with only 2 dribbles, both on the same dunk. They just kept running backdoor lobs to him for insane dunks.

Some video he can shoot the 3 too, Miami thinks they got a steal

Of course they do. They value scouting and young players.

I see James Harden and Marcus Smart are in mid-season form. It looks like Harden didn't even hit the rim.

So I'll massively overreact to one quarter and say Wiseman is going to have a big impact this year if he's healthy. He's rusty yes but the size inside is a big factor he has 2 blocks already. LeBron has driven at him 3 times, twice Wiseman sent him back and he passed, the 3rd time LeBron tried to jump into him and Wiseman blocked the shot. They had so little rim protection last year.

DiVincenzo can play but he's not the dynamic guy GP2 was. I hope JaMychal Green can be even close to what Otto was last year. Off preseason I'm surprised DiVincenzo seems to be ahead of Moody in the rotation.

And since I posted that LeBron has driven at Wiseman twice and scored both times. Jinxed him.

Probably too small but I won't be at all surprised if J Green ends up being passed up by Moody, that kid can just flat shoot it.

Biggest surprise of the pregame talk was not one guy on the show mentioned Memphis when talking about teams with a chance to take it this year

looked like AD’s knee buckled on a drive. He’s ok, but I bet every Laker was holding their breathe

Russ too. Just an awful roster to surround Lebron/AD with.

Westbrook has a bad left hamstring and a bad right knee it will be amazing if he plays as many games as he did last year, 78. As Jon said several times AD went down awkwardly last night and he already has a back problem. That's the big concern for the lakers they have so many guys who are likely going to get hurt

The Warriors were afraid of the same thing it's why Kerr gave the veterans so much time off after the finals. He's said repeatedly none of them, even Curry, are in shape to play more than 30 minutes regularly so he's going to play his bench a ton early in the year.

Wiseman was terrific last night, Kuminga not on offense but he played pretty well on defense.

For the Lakers the lack of core players who can make jumpshots is still bad. They have a couple of designated shooters just not sure they can play at the defensive end.

I think that is just a surprise to you. They are a worse team than last year, and other teams improved dramatically.

Note, I'm talking end of season success. If Jackson's stress fracture lasts long, which is certainly possible bigs and feet are not a good mix, but if it does then their season goes with him he's the key to their defense IMO. But if he gets healthy and is playing well as the playoffs roll around I think they're going to be really good again.

I should add the popular one right now is the Clippers but it seems to me the odds of all 3 of Kawhi, PG and Wall staying healthy all year are pretty low? On paper they look great but given the recent injury history it would seem likely at least 1 and probably 2 of those guys will miss a significant number of games even if they load manage.

But if they stay healthy I completely agree the Clips can be really good.
