But midrange shots analytically are some of the worst shots in basketball. I don’t think the 3 point line is the issue as much as it’s about volume. Even with Book and Luka canning 6 and 8 threes respectively, they still shoot under 40% from 3.

We’re in an era of scoring masterpieces with at least 10-15 guys who can just go absolutely bananas offensively. I definitely wish more emphasis was paid to defense but I doubt that happens moving forward.
I watched the replay of doncic’s game. He did hit 8 three’s and most of them were defended. but he also scored a lot in the mid range and in the paint. scorers in today’s game are a lot more skilled than in the older days. The game is better than it used to be and old guys complain about defense, but there are about 15 players (give or take) that are unique and cannot be stopped even if you defend them well. Then there are a bunch of guys that can hit 3’s and roll to the rim. With that said it is hard to watch at times because there is a lot of scoring in the first 3 quarters that don’t always affect the outcome of a game. I tend to just watch the end of games or highlights now. Back when Kobe or Jordan had their big scoring games no one talked about poor defense. It was always about how great they were. Kobe used to light about the mavericks back in the Nellie/beginning Avery Johnson days when they played all gas on offense and no defense. no one put an asterisk on those games for Kobe.

The crazy way Draymond makes the review motion in a mocking manner shows he is still not emotionally stable.

Doncic excels in 3pt shooting with defenders close, as if he has better reference point to aid his aiming. They showed a clip that this is how he practisd with an AC.

Just watching the Pacers-Celts game, half time 81-66, 5min into 3rd, it's 85-82. Man, quite like Suns game vs. Pacers. It looked like a blowout with Celts not missing any 3pt shots in the 2nd qrt.

He has hit some spot up threes in recent highlights I’ve watched, when there’s not one around him. That’s something that he’s needed to work on and I think he’s gotten better. As well as his free throw percentage. For Dallas it always comes down to if those other guys can make their open shots. Doncic is an offensive machine. Nothing really left to prove in that regard. has to improve defensively particularly in fourth quarters if the Mavericks are ever going to win a title.

Embiid last week and now Lebron vs Boston. Silver has a mess on his hands.

Here are the East All-Star reserves

And Mainstreet posted the West reserves already.
Devin Booker makes the Western Conference All-Star team as a reserve.

He is a four time All-Star.

That’s kinda odd by all accounts he was the veteran leader in that locker room. He’s the guy calling those team meetings trying to hold the team together.

He hasn't played in a year and a half and won't play this season. The Grizzlies season is over since Ja went down. They made the deal to get under the tax threshold. Adams is on the books for another year and they have youngsters who need time and to step up. Not like Adams kept Ja in line so how good of a leader was he anyways? I like him but they don't need him.

You blame him as a leader for the way Ja is? What do you know about his leadership that is causing Ja to be the way he is?

I think I would tend to put the blame on Ja and maybe his up bringing and choices he has made.

I think the Grizzlies have decided to build around a younger core.

I never blamed him for Ja's behavior but I did question how valuable his leadership for the team is when they've had guys like Ja as well as Dillon Brooks acting like idiots. Everyone is responsible for their own behavior but if someone is there that is supposed to be a mentor of sorts then I don't expect the team have so many knuckleheads.
