Ugh. Wolff-Parkinson-White, I bet.

I had to do surgery.. even after surgery I was scared to work out or do anything that was straining even though I was cleared. This was all before covid in case anti vaxx people want to say it was that. Its suppose to be rare but crazy enough I met people who had it and did surgery. All served in the military.

anything dealing with the heart is scary..

So the thinking is the NBA salary cap will keep rising by 10% a season into the foreseeable future.

That you Mat Ishbia for providing free Suns games because with that increase, I might not be able to afford to watch the games going into the future.

I'm not anti-vaxx at all, but the military thing could be a connecting thread of higher risk.

IDK about ten, but the big TV contract next year, supposedly they started the rise in Luxury tax this year and want to smooth that out over several years so we don't have stupid contracts like last time they raised it a bunch in one year.

WPW itself is a fairly common heart condition although it is usually not life threatening. Sounds like maybe you had the more rare version of it that typically involves Afib?

A more controversial reason is that he might be injecting testosterone like his father does. Too high T levels can cause cardiac arrest.

True, there are other possibilities, including other congenital or acquired heart defects. I'm just biased to suspect WPW in cases like this.

Here is a link to an article by Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated about the money Saudi Arabia can offer an athlete.

The TV contract on the horizon is why the cap jumped 10% this year and will for the foreseeable future. That's the smoothing attempt by the league. The tax is a percentage above the cap so it all links.

The Jaylen Brown $304 million contract is guaranteed for 5 years, no options but a 15% trade kicker.

It's the richest contract in NBA history.

These owners can’t help themselves. Brand new CBA designed to make deals like this for non-superstars very burdensome and they go and make Jaylen Brown the highest paid player in the league, giving him a contract that no opponent could have even sniffed.

It will be interesting to see how much bigger the next TV contract will be. I have seen estimates that it will be 3 times more than the current one. If it's that much than I'm not sure how they would be paying the players a high enough percentage with just 10% increases.

Not sure what the numbers are now but my doctor told me it was rare and only less than 10k cases a year. Said I would more than likely never meet anyone with it. I am just saying what I was told lol.

The players will get their set percentage of basketball related income. I vaguely remember reading something about how each player would essentially get a little something extra to hit that percentage. There's a small percentage of their salaries withheld now to make sure the league hits the right number so BRI is distributed correctly and the players get that back at the end of the season if everything is good. They could get more than they'd pay in back to hit the right BRI number. It's all proportioned to salaries now.

My very first thought was what are they pumping into this kid to get him to the league.

If he’s 18 there’s no need to give him anything he should be at his peak.

They don’t care about basketball like they do soccer so I highly doubt it

Taking additional testosterone acts almost like a steroid and it's hard to get a baseline for testosterone. I wouldn't be shocked to find out that James was doing the same thing during HS.

James is doing things at 38 that no one else has, and people aren't considering he might be taking PEDs?

This is horrible. Its an absolute disgrace to the league if he is actually doing this. All of his records need to be erased.

And

Where can I get some of that stuff.

Who isn't considering it? I've always assumed that James has been on PEDs since high school. The physical maturity of his body when he entered the league was unprecedented for someone of his (young) age.
