The Phoenix Suns have reportedly added South Bay Lakers head coach Miles Simon and assistant John Lucas III to their staff, according to TNT’s Chris Haynes.

Both coaches were assistants under Phoenix’s new head coach Frank Vogel in Los Angeles with the Lakers.

Additionally, NBA insider Marc Stein reported on Monday that the Suns were “closing in” on adding Dallas Mavericks assistant Quinton Crawford to their staff as well.

How dare they call Miles Simon a "south bay Lakers coach".

The Suns are adding Miles Simon, the consensus all-American and NCAA Tournament "Most Outstanding Player" to the staff.

Monty Williams is extremely immature. I’ve never seen a coach not be able to separate his feelings from his job like this guy.

I know guys on this board think Booker and the players hate Ayton but it’s the opposite in reality. Same situation with Crowder not one player spoke out against him matter a fact they all said they supported him.

Bomani had said multiple times he was hearing Monty and Paul had become cancerous in this locker room. I think it’s pretty obvious at this point

It would be worth giving both players another opportunity under Frank Vogel.

I think some of us noted that Monty did seem pretty heavy handed and single-minded in his approach. I am not at all surprised he had problems with certain guys who didn't live up to his "ideals." And obviously those weren't always based on production or talent, as we saw how much he favored certain players even when they weren't productive.

A coach who can't put aside his personal feelings for the better of the team will inevitably lose the team when the players begin to notice patterns of favoritism and/or grudges against certain players regardless of performance. I can't help but wonder if this is what happened in the last couple post-seasons with the Suns.

Yep Monty had to go. Without any insight it was obvious he played his favorites no matter what. And in hindsight I see why the players quit on him, twice.

CP3 also wore out his welcome I suspect. I didn’t hear much on social media about the players saying anything about cp3 after he was traded.

I remember getting dumped on when I said Monte was a problem. Seems like a great guy but his lack of ability to use a time out REALLY bugged me early in his tenure.
The favoritism for "his" guys and dislike for others. I never thought he used DA properly. I'm not saying DA isn't a soft dumpster fire but why is he guarding guards and wings?
But when Monte more or less just sat on his hands and watched us falter in the 3rd playoff in a row I was really done.
I think we are better off without him and I hope he has learned something.

Yeah, I noted some of the same issues with him early on. It was easy to overlook in that great run to the finals, but even then you could see his obstinacy hampering the team.

The one that still leaves me totally puzzled is Torrey Craig in the Denver series. Craig was fantastic in the first round as the fifth starter and in the second round he couldn't get in the game at all. He's one of the guys I hope they are able to bring back. Maybe with Monty out of the picture that's still a possibility?

Craig played in games 1 & 2, but after both of those losses, Monty switched it up to TJ and Ross, and we won the next two. Wasn’t the right move in hindsight but at that moment Torrey was completely ineffective against the Nuggets.

Supposedly Gambo says they are looking to bring back Landale, Craig, Okogie, Lee, Payne.
