Those odds mean the Pistons are heavy betting favorites?

If it's a negative that means you need to bet that number to win $100. So $125 bet wins a $100. If it's a positive then $100 will bring in that amount, so $8000 if you bet $100 he'd sign with Detroit.

Brodgon
Pros - Big PG, can shoot
Cons - Injury history, can he create shots for others

Collins
Pros - Explosive athlete, can shoot, starting PF
Cons - Production slide, contract

I'd add strong 1 on 1 and team defender for Brogdan. He can create for others as well. He's not Chris Paul but he did a good job earlier in his career in Milwaukee when he had weapons around him like Giannis, Portis, Lopez, and Middleton.

100 is even money, +1000 is paying out 10 to 1, -125 pays out 75 cents to the dollar.

All the gamblers come out haha. I know how it works. I go to Vegas and also FanDuel it up. It was sarcasm, which never works through text let alone a forum with people I’ve never met.

A straight up 1-1 swap is the best we could do. Payne and Brogdon are a good combo but eventually one of them is going to get hurt

This is why the Suns need to groom a couple of backup point guards at the end of the roster or on two-way contracts.

FWIW:

I guess this type of trade would involve Ayton. Chris Paul is not going to get the Suns a first round pick.

I keep saying, best case scenario Lakers and Clips get in a bidding war for CP3. Better to try and get a trade with PHX, to get past the other team in the open market.

The Lakers are interested in Paul if he is waived or stretched, so in other words, they want a free one.

I get that. So do the Clippers. Problem is, there's only 1 CP3 to go around. If one of the teams wants him that bad, they have to take their chances the other team can't lure him away in free agency, or to make sure they get him, just do a trade with PHX. I know it's a long shot, but I am reading Clippers players trying to get CP3 to come to Clip Land, while LeBron would love to play with CP3. I really can't see CP3 going to Houston. He came to PHX to be near his family. I figure it's us or the two LA teams he is only interested in. I do believe he is being sincere when he says he wants to play with Book and KD. If we waive and stretch, I would be shocked if he didn't end up in LA.

Too bad we couldn't have gotten Ty Lue included.

I'm not sure that helps the Suns. The goal is to get depth and bringing in Brogdon adds 7 million in salary compared to cutting CP3 and doesn't allow us to get under the luxury tax to open up the full MLE that waiving and stretching CP3 would allow.

I'm not seeing anyone discussing the possibility of waiving and stretching Shamet. I believe his guaranteed 10 million contact can be stretched over 4 years saving us about 8 million. Assuming he can't be used as contract filler, it could be another option to help us get under the L tax without having to stretch CP3.

Doesn't look like any of of it is fully guaranteed.

"Landry Shamet (2 years left on 4 year, $42.5 million, non-guaranteed 2024-2025, club option 2025-2026)"

I think Shamet is a goner. We'll find a taker for him in a trade due to the flexibility with his contract. He has 3 years remaining, I believe, and only this coming season has guaranteed money. So a team can stretch that guaranteed money out over 7 years, remaining years times 2 and plus 1 is how stretching works, so a team can add some real flexibility if they wanted to free up money. He has more value as a trade asset than being waived and stretched here. We have other options available.

The Phoenix Suns have reportedly added South Bay Lakers head coach Miles Simon and assistant John Lucas III to their staff, according to TNT’s Chris Haynes.

Both coaches were assistants under Phoenix’s new head coach Frank Vogel in Los Angeles with the Lakers.

Additionally, NBA insider Marc Stein reported on Monday that the Suns were “closing in” on adding Dallas Mavericks assistant Quinton Crawford to their staff as well.
