He was doomed the minute AARon showed up. Shackled with him and Nathaniel Hackett he was absolutely screwed. The crap show he was handed at QB before AARon didn't help him either.

It was obvious that AARon did not like Saleh and that was the final nail in the coffin for him as HC there.

Can't cry much because he walks away with the $$$$ left on his contract until he decides if he wants to go back to a DC role or what may happen in a year or two.

It seems really stupid for the Jets to fire him week 5, they're punting on the season. Why now? They just lost to the best team in the NFL in a game where their defense showed up and their QB threw 3 interceptions. They're 2-3 and have a really easy schedule, they could have Rodgers get hot and make the playoffs. Replacing Saleh with an interim coach won't make things better.

The rumor is that the GM didn't even know Saleh was being fired, the Jet's idiot owner did it impulsively.

Just heard a reporter spoke to Robert Saleh after his firing and he said Robert was blindsided by the owner walking into his office this morning and firing him. Also reported that apparently the GM didn't even know it was going to happen.

J E T S...Jets Jets Jets!!!!!

Robert Saleh went through six different starting quarterbacks during his time with the Jets:
Zach Wilson: 33 games
Mike White: 7 games
Aaron Rodgers: 6 games
Joe Flacco: 5 games
Trevor Siemian: 3 games
Tim Boyle: 2 games

Its funny that Flacco has just been objectively better than 2022-Now Rodgers ever since he left the Jets.

LOLJets. They're second in the division, fifth in scoring defense, second in yardage defense, and very alive in the playoff race. Time to shake things up.
Gotta think this was a Rodgers power play… even though his play has stunk or been extremely average now for a couple seasons.

This will be the first time that the Jets have made an in-season coaching change since Lou Holtz resigned before the final game of the 1976 season. Mike Holovak took over the club for the final game, a 42-3 loss to the Bengals. It’s just the 3rd time the Jets have made an in-season coaching change, with the other 2 coming in consecutive years.
1975: Charley Winner was fired after 2-7 start; Ken Shipp took over and went 1-4.
1976: Lou Holtz resigned after 3-10 start; Mike Holovak took over and went 0-1.
