I'm better than Mulli!
Watching UNC v UVA. Not impressed by Maye so far. One really nice throw with lots of time and a wide open receiver.
How am I supposed to get excited about this kid who, at least when I watch him, completes around 50% of his passes? He looks like he's out of central casting. But I ain't feeling it. Fools gold IMO.Watching UNC v UVA. Not impressed by Maye so far. One really nice throw with lots of time and a wide open receiver.
I’m not a big college football guy but I actually make a point to find games so I can watch Maye. The way he calmly goes through his progressions, can feel the pressure to know when to roll out or run, and his arm and accuracy are incredibly impressive. He doesn’t make a lot of dumb decisions either by trying to play “hero” ball.I admit I haven't watched him a bunch DVontel. I did watch his little Youtube 2022 highlight vid of him vs. Florida A&M.
This past Sat I switched over to the Miami game where Maye (and co.) got the ball with 1:30 left at the end of the 1st half.
He went 1 for 3 for six yards, and the Tarheels went 3-and-out. He did get pretty heavy pressure on the 3rd down play, but a couple of those throws were decidedly meh.
He just didn't inspire me to watch him in the 2nd half (not even to record it and fast forward just to watch NC on offense). You see where I'm coming from?
If you and Krang want to drive the bandwagon, have at it, but at this point I'm having an tough time getting excited about the kid.
And no, I'm not going get fired up if he goes 16/21 for 320 yards and four TDs against the Fighting Camels of Campbell U. Okay? That's f****** ridiculous.

I’d take him #1 regardless of how K1 does this year. and I am not rooting against Kyler, I just really think Maye is that good.
I did not, too much going on today. That said, everyone has bad games. I’m basing my opinion on what I’ve seen.Did you watch his game tonight? Against the 1-5 (now 2-5) Virginia Cavilers?
Why are college QBs Taking snaps in shotgun all the time?Similar thing in the OSU/PSU game. PSU had a 4th and one at midfield, PSU sends a player in motion and Allar (6'-5", 240 lbs. who can run) in shotgun and play goes to motion man who drops the pass.
In first half, this play happens. They call #25 for PSU for holding. What you don't see is the OSU QB gets sacked, fumbles and PSU returns it for a TD.

Trying to make them learn under center offenses was less effective than just letting them stay in shotgun running spread offenses. They are simple but effective and apparently easy to operate. Having a pro-style offense has become synonymous with having a bad offense over the last 15 years in CFB. Pretty much everyone that ran one has gotten fired and been replaced with some type of spread guru, though there are some notable exceptions. Why are college QBs Taking snaps in shotgun all the time?
It's an easier game for the QB. Makes the foot work much, much simpler. When was the last time you heard anyone, in the NFL as well, talking about 3 step and 7 step drops? The QB gets a better read of the entire field presnap. Why are college QBs Taking snaps in shotgun all the time?
I was busy watching Caleb Williams lay another egg against a ranked team who have a lot less talent.Did you watch his game tonight? Against the 1-5 (now 2-5) Virginia Cavilers?
You think utah has less talent than Virginia?!?I was busy watching Caleb Williams lay another egg against a ranked team who have a lot less talent.
Was Houston out of Challenges, or are no challenges allowed under two minutes?Watching Houston and Texas I kind of like Tune's replacement at QB, Donovan Smith? not a first rounder but 6'5" 240 good arm, can run. Seems like a guy you could get and develop if you don't take a QB high up in the draft.
Watching college I never cease to be amazed at 2 things, how bad the refs are, and how bad coaches can be. 3rd down Houston RB clearly gets the first down on forward progress, Texas pushes him back, refs spot the ball short so down 7 they have to go on 4th down. Terrible spot. Then with a 240 pound QB who can run, instead of just lining up and pushing him over the top they go shotgun, WR in motion and roll him right throwing to the motion man. Throw is offline incomplete they lose the game. Keep it simple coach.
He was out for the game but has been having an excellent year. Teams have been avoiding him, that's how good he's been.If watching Ohio and Penn today keep an eye on Denzel Burke at CB. He's an Arizona/Saguaro kid and CB3/4 in this class. I think he will be a target for us.
Would've been even better if the young QB wasn't so inaccurate in the 1st half.Huge day for Marvin Harrison, Jr. against top ranked defense in country.
The power of Justin Herbert. You think utah has less talent than Virginia?!?
I think he means Utah with less talent than USCI was busy watching Caleb Williams lay another egg against a ranked team who have a lot less talent.

Funny enough I've been seeing people throw Kingsbury under the bus for CW this year, lol.For the first time I watched all of NCs offensive snaps. I guess if I'm being perfectly fair, it appears to have been an outlier game for Maye.
It's still pretty alarming to hear people say the Cardinals should draft him with the #1 pick.
