Right now, we are 4 and 12. So Maye isn't really an option. Olu and Newton probably the best options. Draft not looking as great for AZ. WR/OL probably most prevalent positions with round 1 value. I am meh'ing on the EDGE class right now. DL is a need but class is kinda rough.

Love Maason Smith's talent, but not sure about the dude. Thoughts on him @DVontel

The Cards should honestly just draft BPA. There isn't really a position this roster can't get stronger at.

I watch most Illinois games. JerZhan Newton constantly get’s double and even triple teamed and still makes plays. On those rare occasions he get’s a one on one, he destroys that lineman. Constant motor with great explosiveness. Don’t look at just the stats with him. Teams know he is the only game wrecker on Illinois and they game plan accordingly. I think he may go top 5 assuming he stays healthy. When I watch Newton, I see a stronger Darnell Dockett.

The problem is that he's literally the only DL with a 1st round talent. Certainly top of the 1st round. So we can't go banking on him being available.

No, there are two Key position in which we are struggling most, front seven pressure and cb play, yes we Need also a left guard but the offense with Kyler back Is enough good imo
With an accurate qb we could be 4-2 instead of 1-5

Tankathon 100% believes we should be taking Bowers - seems to be mocked to us no matter where we pick.

We are now setting at #4 and #12 with #35 in round 2.

Olu and Latu would be solid with Troy Franklin at #35.

If we draft Bowers I'm done with this Org. Drafting a top 10 TE is dumb at any time. Drafting a 240lb one that can't run block in an offense that needs run blocking TE's would be insane.

Bowers is great, but he's basically a big slot and it would be an absolute luxury for this team.

My gut is we don't draft an Edge.

All the group we have are under contract next year and I think the coaches will be largely happy with the results they are getting from them. All are under contract, and they have a lot of growth still to come out of practically all of them. Everyone but Gardeck is very young and still developing. Zaven is the oldest at 24.

With that in mind there are just too many positions of greater need.

And honestly nobody in this class is blowing me away. There's no Bosa or Parsons. I'm not even sure there's a Tank Lawrence or Chase Young.

Yes we need the inside push from the interior defensive line, we have many young pass rushers, we can rotate them and be enough effective from the outside, hopefully ojulari can get Better

I m curious tò know the difference between McBride and ertz in terms of targets catches drops and yards

McBride was 5/4 for 62 yards and Ertz was 2/5 for 22 yards.

Ertz has a 58.5 passer rating when targeted. McBride has a 106 passer rating when targeted.

After yesterday McBride is only 22 yards behind Ertz.

I wish you were correct but considering our run defense AND pass defense, I just don't see it. Next year IF Kyler can play like the Kyler of old, and we fix the OL, new LG and a better OT, and draft a good WR in a draft, pretty rich in WR talent, our offense should be very good. But the defense will still need a couple of DL-men and a couple of CB's.

Agreed. I can't think of a much more depressing draft outcome than that mock.

Kyle Pitts was drafted #4 and he is now in year three. He has 1600 yards and 4 TDs for his career. And, it's not that he sucks. TEs just are not that impactful except for rare exceptions.

I think he will be in the top 10 convo.

Maybe. These convos are tough because so much will happen between now and then. What I think is that OT/DL/EDGE/WR could be our biggest "needs" in next years draft. As the class looks right now, it might behoove Monti to trade back again if certain guys are off the board vs taking a CB or TE top 12. Or even look to trade up to ensure a Olu/Turner/Newton/Alt combo.

Sticking and picking Bowers can be where BPA leads you astray.

If Tyliek Williams declares for the draft, he should be on the Cards radar at some point. He's a DT from OSU that has been much better than more highly regarded DL players like JTT, Jack Sawyer, and Mike Hall. He's been a force in about every game this year.

I'd never consider a TE BPA in the top 15.

In the top 20 we shouldn't be drafting TE, LB, safety, guard or RB.
