I have noticed him. Nice that the Beavs are willing and he should be on TV. Missed the UCLA game which would have been nice to see.
He’ll shoot up behind Olu & Alt as OT3 after the season.I have seen a little late 1st round buzz on him as well.

Why? I'm not saying he can't show up in the offseason/TC and become such a beast that he forces himself into the lineup, but what gives you this impression now? I'd like us to upgrade the position with a quality starter, not go with a poke and hope strategy. Then, if we can solidify the OL, we can start working young kids in after they've been seasoned a bit more, as the years go along.I'd expect the FO will be interested in Christian Hayes considering our run scheme. Although I still think they will pencil in Gaines to start at LG.

This is the exact same argument you made about Marquis Hayes.Because he's a 4th round pick that's athletic and mobile. I think if he was healthy now he would be starting at LG.
I don't think they sign a vet in FA as it's a pretty weak group so the other option would be to draft a day 2 guard, which they may do. But I think they will still have Gaines with his year with the playbook pencilled in to start going into camp because I don't see them drafting a guard before late round 3 so why would they expect him to start?
Not a reason without good play or reports so glowing from the coaching staff they can't be overlooked. Like "This guy's clearly been a starter from day one" kind of stuff. I mean, he could end up being our next starting LG. I'm not saying that isn't possible. There just isn't reason to anoint him as such at this point.Because he's a 4th round pick that's athletic and mobile. I think if he was healthy now he would be starting at LG.

Guess that means he'll be CJ Stroud level great nowI know there’s been talk of Donovan Jackson, the OG from OSu being a 1st round pick.
Just say no to that. Maybe late rounder.
But he is athletic and mobile.
You don’t think Latham will end up locking that down? He’ll shoot up behind Olu & Alt as OT3 after the season.
Trying hard to drop past teams drafting in Top 5. Unfortunately him and his "team" may be unaware that NFL bylaws prevent active players from owning any interest in a team. NBA and NFL I believe also prohibit active players from team ownership.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

Either he's got bad advice or like you said he's really trying to drop to a team like the Falcons or Washington.Trying hard to drop past teams drafting in Top 5. Caleb's reps should read the CBA between the NFLPA and the leaguexc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Maybe they plan to challenge it??? Pull a Maurice Clarrett, on a much larger scale??? Or maybe just have the promise of ownership detailed into the contract, for when he retires??? It's super outlandish and I'm sure it looks like bad advice, but I don't think his people are dumb or ill-informed...just probably thinking they can be the pioneers to break the precedent and change the rules.Caleb's reps should read the CBA between the NFLPA and the league
