This is the guy we need. I mentioned him a few days ago as a 3rd round guy but I think he's going to be one of those guys that rises a lot during the draft process as people catch up with the tape.

Running through some draft content and this draft has some really quality top 50 players at OL and WR. Two WRs with our top 3 picks will be an absolute consideration. Is sucks because there is such a need for the front 5 but man, some legit talent at WR for the taking. Troy Franklin is a pretty good WR prospect and he might be available in round 2.

To draft experts, is Marvin Harrison Jr talent like Larry Fitz or Ceede Lamb ?

I think I want Newton or another DT/IOL and I want the Cardinals to throw money at Wilkins or Jones in FA.

Draft a WR round two since it doesn't look like MHJ will be possible. Round three LG, CB, maybe a S if Budda leaves.

I get the MHJ hype and let down, but Nabers, Odunze, Coleman, Egbuka, and Brian Thomas look like special players and in a different draft class, Franklin and Polk would likely be 1st rounders as well.

Again, I get we need Newton and I am usually all about building the lines, but this WR class looks special. Right now, I have probably two defensive front 5 players in consideration with 6 WRs. Turner and Newton. There isn't another DT IMO and the rest of the edge guys leave some key things to be desired. Couple this with the FA class on the defensive front, and it might be wise to load up in FA and grab WRs/OL early in the draft.

Agree 100% -- MHJ is not Fitzgerald. He may turn into a superstar, but not like Fitz. I also think his closest comp is a young AJ Green.

Nothing wrong with that at all, btw. Green was a pro-bowler for a long time.
I guess our view of Green might be skewed by what we saw here. But, for his first seven years? AJ Green was a superstar WR and totally worth the #4 pick. He averaged over 1,200 yards, 8 TDs per season those first seven years. And, he missed 6 games in year six. He also made some freakishly great catches.

I would pick a guy like that top 5.

You've just made the case for Newton because of the death of talent at IDL and made the case for waiting on WR.

Add to that... IDL is a position where players regularly perform well into their mid thirties... would love to draft a young stud... but two 34 year old free agents at $8mil each would solve that issue for a couple seasons. Buy us some time to try and develop some later round picks.

Also... have heard many guys saying Frodo is a guard playing Center.... Have you watched Cedrick Van Pran?? Would be a steal with our first 3rd.
Get an LT in the first...move Frodo to LG...Van Pran at OC... and swap the Captain for a couple picks... that leaves is with a mid to late 1st and an early 2nd to look at an Coleman or Odunze...or both.

It comes down to cost. I am not sure I am interested in paying any of the FA WRs 18+ per year including Brown. If I am the Cardinals I am planning on grabbing a WR with one of the top three picks regardless of FA. If I decided to move on from Brown, maybe grab another WR in round 3 and sign a mid level FA WR. Mike Evans, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Josh Reynolds, and DJ Chark are all probably more interesting to me than Brown or Higgins at 20+.

Based on Chop's scenario I'd be tempted to double dip at WR.

Take Nabers and Thomas.

There is some bias because I know someone who coaches at LSU, but if Thomas is there I'd be cool with him if he's there at the top of the 3rd round as well.

A.J. Green was a seven-time Pro Bowler and 2x second-team All-Pro. At his best, he was arguably better than Larry Fitzgerald.
Would have been a lock 1st or 2nd ballot HOF without the injuries and especially if he had a QB better than Dalton.
MHJ is Julio 2.0
Sometimes I get too caught up in viewing them as prospects instead of their actual pro careers. I remember when people thought Julio was overdrafted. Not as natural of a WR, didnt have the smoothness in and out of his breaks and had the dropsies. Issues that AJ Green didnt have when he entered the league.

MHJ doesnt have those issues, but I dont know if he had the sheer speed/power that Julio possessed.

I draft a LT and play him at LG and keep Hump for another year or two. Draft Van Pran and let him and Frodo battle for OC. I like Frodo more for depth than as a starter. I also draft another IOL on day 3.

I considered that. Also considered moving Hump to LG... but I feel pretty certain he would not accept it gracefully. I like Hump...but we have always needed just a little bit more from the LT position. With a couple guys available who would be solid upgrades I would just pull the trigger and lock down Kylers bookends for the next 12 years.
But I would get value out of Hump while he still has it... he ain't a great starter but he is a legit starter and several teams would love to have him.
Rumor has it Van Pran is cerebral and a strong leader...a true OC that reads defenses and calls protections...

Has anyone heard from Jon Gaines?
