I will check it out tonight. I know they were airing the trailer in Times Square tonight with a street team dressed as CTU agents.

Bearded, Chinese-imprisoned Jack Bauer is more kick ass than regular Jack Bauer.

I haven't watched S5 yet, as I am addicted to TV on DVD. Even with a DVR, I cant get myself to watch it because I like to watch multiple episodes at a time and I just cant do it. It sucks that they always wait untl Dec before releasing 24 on DVD.

11.21 | Fox announces the '24' season 6 premiere DVD, available to buy January 16th
Fox is releasing a DVD of the first four episodes of season six on January 16th. The episodes air on the Sunday and Monday, then the DVD comes out Tuesday. No doubt those of you in the UK and the rest of the world will be able to order it online from somewhere - try amazon.com.

The DVD contains:

6:00 - 7:00AM
7:00 - 8:00AM
8:00 - 9:00AM
9:00 - 10:00AM

There's also a 12 minute preview of the fifth episode, 10:00 - 11:00AM, which won't be broadcast until the week after the DVD is in the stores.

The DVD will cost just $14.98 in the US, and CA$15.98 in Canada. The running time is 176 minutes.

A nice experiment to see if they can combat illegal downloaders and bittorrent fans, no doubt.

Former "NYPD Blue" star Rick Schroder is joining the cast of Fox's "24," reports Variety.

Schroder has signed on for a regular role on the series, which returns for its sixth season next month. He'll play CTU operative Mike Doyle, teaming with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) to pull off key field operations.

What happens when two really big celebrities want to guest star on one of TV's hottest shows?

The show turns them down.

Both Jennifer Aniston and Ben Stiller wanted to appear on FOX's 24, but producer Joel Surnow turned them down because they are "too recognizable. They'll take you out of the reality."

The show has added a lot of new cast members this season, including Rick Schroder, Peter MacNichol, Regina King, Eric Balfour, Powers Boothe, and Michael Angarano, so maybe a big name star (or stars) would put the entire feel of the show out of whack.

What do you think about this? Do you think that having a former Friend and a popular movie star would take viewers out of the story, or do you think that viewers are smart enough to just consider them a character in the show?

I agree, it would totally take away from the show to have them on it...good job on their parts.

Just finished. Jack is back (and still a badass), but the magic has not returned (even with unprecedented events happening this season). I think I'll do what I should have done with the last three seasons: watch the dvds.
