... and no one wants to talk about it.

The only time some of you guys get excited is if something is wrong with Amare's desire or if we trade a 12th man.

This is perhaps one of the greatest starts in professional sports history, I just thought this place would be a little livlier.

Hopefully, some of you are saving your enthusiasm for the home games. This team deserves a sellout every single night.

2 MVP candidates. Amazing.

Yes, I'm calling you out Joe_Mama, elindholm, Chaplin, Nils, Chandler Mike, George, Gaddabout, Sanders, Gee, Cheese, Ouchie, Skkorp, etc. Let's go!

Ho hum, just another win over a likely playoff team on the road.

At this point individual games are almost beside the point. The Suns will make the playoffs and have a good shot at having a home court advantage in the first round. What everyone wants to talk about is their chances in the playoffs. Next week against the Pacers and the Heat I expect we will see a lot of discussion because these are two very dangerous teams.

What did the Rocket's game prove? When the Suns are hitting from the outside, no one can stop them. We knew that.

I canceled a cross-country flight to an important conference at the last minute today because of food poisoning. I am only just now able to sit up again, sort of.

I think the Suns are doing well, and (as I've said several times before) I am especially thrilled with Hunter's contribution.

I'm as happy as eveyone else here about the Suns this season, but if we all just ran around yelling "YAY SUNS. WOOHOO THIS TEAM ROCKS!" all the time then this would be a pretty boring place. This team is the most exciting and fun to watch basketball team (not just Suns team) that I've ever seen and I'm trying to enjoy every minute of it.

Even as good as they are, they can still improve. They know it and the fans know it and when we point it out (like playing Hunter more) and then it happens it's an ever cooler feeling. It makes us think we know what the hell we're talking about :)

At least you probably received a good ab workout. Hope you're feeling better.

sly, i don't think you understand. even the criticisms here are nothing but veiled praise. we want more, and hearing nash/stoudemire you know they want more, only because they know they're capable of it. i've never seen anything like this:

-best team in the league
-youngest team in the league
-team absolutely SUCKED last year
-most exciting team in the league
-one of the best starts EVER
-one of the most ENTERTAINING ever
-one of the most DOMINANT starts ever (in terms of margin of victory)
-MULTIPLE MVP candidates
-THREE all-stars (that's right, i said it)
-Suns first absolutely dominant big-man EVER
-a starting lineup where the weakest link gets 15ppg
-'this team destroys your will to win'- Jerry Sloan

what more can you say...oh yeah, time to BOLD, HIGHLIGHT, and UNDERLINE: YOUNGEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE!!! as in, tremendous potential to improve, as in only been playing together for 4 months. its that facet that leads us to say, 'man, if we tried this...' I think at this point, trading any one of the big 5 is out of the question. we're talking about 1 of 2 things:

-strategy involving rotation/style of play
-adding someone to this group (without a subtraction)

I think that's fair to do, especially considering the suns are nowhere near the ceiling of potential. just think: milos + bulls pick + maybe MLE gets added to this next year. its absolutely insane!

Some positives on tonights game.

Our perimeter defense was very good, even in the 4th. There were a number of trips down the court where Houston was determined to shoot a 3 and we did not let them get one off. No open looks outside the arc whatsoever. It seems our defensive strategy was--no 3's, no layups, contest the midrange shot. It worked well.

You've got to be delighted with the development of Steven Hunter. He's very long, mobile, and has decent hops. His minutes have increased and stabilized and he seems to be responding. At this point he is quite an effective inside stopper against the other team's "big" (Yao, Garnett). I don't know if there was ANY FA this summer, regardless of cost, who would have served this team better--and we got him for the minimum.

Keeping him on this team long term might be difficult--since he'll be a perennial unrestricted fa.

Some people and their never-ending excuses... I hope you're feeling a little bit better now. Do you know what food was to blame? I had a bad ham experience a few years back that I'll never forget.

LOL. I guess that works as long as you want as fast as a Phoenix Suns fast break. Now if you can just incorporate a pastrami sandwich into your sex life you'll have the trifecta. :)

I thought the Suns played a great game last night against Houston.

Sorry Sly Fly, I work Tuesday-Thursday Nights and I can't post from work. I did get to watch the game though and I loved every minute of it that I could see. I have always been the foolish optomist on this board when it comes to the Suns...at least this year I don't have to say foolish :)

I usually watch the game and then come here to see comments..........last night I watched the game and came in at half time and no one was here, so I went to the chat board and logged in and some guy was talking about 'HOCKEY" I made a couple comments and signed off and went back to watch the game. After the game there was no one here...........?
I think this group either is old and goes to bed early, :) or we are experienced fans and prefer to talk about the game the next day which we are doing today. I think I remember some on this board work nights and also probably use the computer at work (heaven forbid) to talk about the suns and not at their home computer during game time.

Anyway, great game last and looking forward to many more.

Okay, I'll take a swig of the Suns koolaid. It appears they are on pace to approach 70 wins. Do the Suns really have a chance to win 70 games? Wow.

Thanks for your kind thoughts. That one little post sapped all of my remaining energy for the day, but I'm doing better now.

In my opinion, the three best teams in the league right now are San Antonio, Phoenix, and Miami. The Suns have done a great job showing that they are better than all of the rest, at least to this point. They dominated Minnesota for 3 1/2 quarters, which is quite an accomplishment, even though the Wolves are struggling. Based on the Spurs game, the Suns don't seem to be in San Antonio's league yet, but I'll be very interested to see how they do against the Heat.

I'm not sure that I would say that this team is not in the same league as SA. We have only played SA one time. Yes, the Suns were dominated in that game, but I also think that DA is finally coming around and feeling more comfortable with giving Hunter more playing time. Also, Jake didn't get to play in that game. In the past, I feel that Jake did an okay job of guarding Duncan. The next time we play SA win or lose, I believe that the game will be a lot closer.

Please disregard my 70 wins post. Too much cough medicine and lingering jet lag from a trip to Italy are playing mean tricks on me.

Good to hear you're doing better.....

Now that coach D has figured out that Hunter AND Amare can play at the same time, I would have to say we are a LOT colser to SA than we were. Now I believe we will not only make it past the 1st round of the playoff's, we have a legit chance to win the "whole ball of wax". As a matter of fact, I have changed my tune about the next 29 games ....and the rest of the story: 23-6 :D Everyone's going to be gunning for the Suns so it won't be easy.

Maybe I'm asking for too much , but, if coach D would get Vroman & Lampe some time when it's possible............ perhaps the starting 5 would not be as tired in the 4th qtr of back-to-back's. Just a thought.

Yeah..I noticed that too. Even Little Stevie ran to the corner to put his hands up high and that dude just shot a brick and the clock ran out. LOL I thought that was pretty funny.

I am very happy about Suns' record. I have to admit that I didn't expect THIS good. Maybe it's due to insecure...you know the feeling that TOO GOOD, TO BE TRUE?

While I want Suns to win the championship and astonish the world, I still have doubts about them in the playoffs, mainly because this team is young and we can't really afford any injury.

However, because we are a young team, when we lose a game, we light up the fire inside us and we usually get back the next game.

So far, I think this Suns team is more and more like a championship team. There are only a FEW area we need to REALLY work on and most important one is:
Defensive Rebound. Sometimes we just need to put our butts and arms high to push the defenders away from the basket to avoid those easy baskets.

Other than that, I think all Suns players are playing at a very high confidence level.

GO SUNS!!

Who's next?

Wally, I somewhat agree with you on the bench, but I am thinking that it was Hunters performance in practice more than D'Antoni not wanting to play him. D'Antoni was trying to get the players to learn his system and play together, and it took Hunter a while to understand the system. In the meantime the suns were winning big time and he did not want to risk losing that edge with the players by bringing in Hunter until he felt comfortable with it.

At 28-4 D'Antoni may be right in his thinking!! Voskuhl will probably start getting some minutes and with CJ, Hunter, Voskuhl, & Barbosa that is a 9 man rotation and they should all do well without any others until blow out time in the 4th quarter.

I think it is amazing that we are looking at a 28-4 record!! And they are extremely fun to watch besides......Unbelievable!
