Yes, Wilson's number were distorted, as were Cutler's. but not LT's. we get it. :)

Because Wilson even under 60% was putting up 10-12 more TD passes a year than Thomas and was a better runner too. Save his freshman year Wilson was always demonstrably better than Thomas no matter where he played.

Do you really think Va Tech was comparable to Vanderbilt in terms of talent they had around Thomas?

Between 1982 and 2011 Vandy didn't win more than 7 games once, and 7 was the only time they got over 5 wins in that 30 year period.

They've improved of late I almost suspect that Cutler helped them recruit, kids saw Cutler in the NFL and decided Vandy was a good option because they've won 9 games each of the last 2 years.

I would say lack of talent around LT and 3 OC's help to sweeten my myopic koolaid. :). And he didn't play in the SEC, but he played Alabama. :}

Just remembered: cutler was throwing to Earl Bennett, star NFzl receiver. Not that it matters. :)

But, Palmer will play a full 16 games in 2014 before he turns 35 on December 27.

16 in 2015 (36)
16 in 2016 (37)
16 in 2017 (38)

Little kids like to say things like 4 1/2 years old. When the season starts this year, he will be 35 2/3 years old, if we are going to be precise. My point being, I would like the plan to include someone who has shown more potential and who would have been a higher priority draft slot. Suppose this guy is not the answer 2 years from now or sooner if Palmer goes down. I don't want to see Stanton as the replacement either. Thomas has shown no production. He is a wish and a hope. That is a leaky plan if it is part of replacing an aging veteran. I don't care that he was picked in the 4th round, I care that someone more worthy was not picked sooner.

The guy hikes the ball and locks on to one receiver, other teams pick it up real fast and than cover what ever receiver Logan is going to. Than the pics or maybe another nice throw or 2, and than it's off to the races. He even sells the fake hand off like crap, looks like a dog in freeze position to take a dump. I get that he has a cannon, but he's so friggin raw.

FWIW, way back in the Plummer days Russ was ahead of everyone in pointing out the Snake's flaws and no one wanted to hear it.

This thread: It's deja vu all over again.

I thought Russ was right then and I think he is right now. The guy is a big stiff of a QB IMO. I hate thinking that, and I hope I'm wrong. He'll have to show me a lot more in camp and preseason than he did in college for me to shake that.

Logan Thomas is going to start throwing with his left arm. Accuracy fixed.

Well you can't expect a guy hiking the ball to himself to have much time looking off his intended target now, can you lol

Ya, if he plays like he played in college, he is toast.

Now can we discuss the Cards dooming him with the #6 jersey.

They're totally different of course. Jake was actually a QB just one with some limitations that it turned out hindered his career save a couple of really good years in Denver playing for the same guy that made RG3 look like a future HOFer his rookie year. I'm not really convinced Thomas is a QB and apparently neither were several NFL teams that had him on their boards as a TE according to some published reports.

I think one of my concerns with Thomas is that we're going to waste 2-3 years and then decide yeah he's not a QB and convert him to TE. By then he'll be a 25-26 year old trying to convert to TE where right now he'd be a 22-23 year old trying to do that.

I suspect he's big enough and athletic enough they could play him on Special teams so we won't have to expose him to other teams while converting him to TE.

But he may in fact be that rare guy who wasn't very good in college, seemed to get worse not better, but finally gets in the right system with the right coach and the light goes on.

Well, I guess there's some similarities such as the buy-in by a famous QB guru but there's some big differences. There were a lot of posters on Cards Corner and the other sites that were convinced Jake was the QB of the immediate future when he was drafted and just a coach away from being a great QB. Sure, some of the Plummer fans acknowledged flaws but they were minor flaws that would disappear as he grew accustomed to the speed of the NFL. I don't really see anyone touting Thomas as the present or the near future and no one is dancing the tango for the guy (or asking him to the prom). Fourth round QB's are long shots, Logan, perhaps, even more so. What makes it interesting is the tremendous ceiling this guy has if the long-shot pays off.
