I will have to look at this when I am not at work. This is a great thread.

It is nice to see Princess Monoke get some respect. Absolutely fantastic anime.

I agree. I found this on IMDB while browsing through Billy Crudup movies. It also includes Claire Danes, Minnie Driver, and Billy Bob Thornton.

I can't believe I've actually found someone else who's seen "The Apartment".

It's my favorite of all time.
Who would have thought that Shirley McClain was a hottie in the day?
And Fred MacMurry being an immoral dude?!
Who woulda thunk it?

I went on a classic spree about a year ago, and bought about 30 classics to add to my DVD collection. It was one of the ones that I grabbed, and it certainly did not disappoint!

And I haven't seen that one yet, though I do want to.

It's weird.

I saw most of Downfall last night, so I'm at 98 1/2 movies seen on the list so far.

I thought Spirited Away was very strange. The animation was really cool, and it seemed very dream-like.

I really liked Paths of Glory. One of my favorite Kirk Douglas films. You might as well go and watch it so you can finish off the list.

What did you think of Downfall? Most WWII movies are filmed from the perspective of the Allies, so I found it fascinating to see a movie made from such a different perspective.

I loved what I saw of Downfall, but it was almost 2 in the morning, and I couldn't keep my eyes open reading the subtitles. Bruno Ganz was fascinating as Hitler--a total and complete nutjob.

I've been trying to get Paths of Glory for years--while not a huge Kubrick fan, I am interested in his earlier work (pre-Spartacus). The DVD is pretty cheap, so there isn't really any good excuse for me not to see it.

In case nobody is aware, "Leon" is called "The Professional" in the United States.

I have heard it called that. The superbit DVD that I have is actually called "Leon the Professional"

Very good flick. The wifey loves Natalie Portman, yet she still has not seen it.
