Lol stop. Ayton is better than Baynes. Baynes is playing well but he also has the benefits of playing with guys 10x better than Ayton played with last year.

Baynes is a great role player and I love what he brings but those 3s at the end were ugly.

I don’t even know if this is real I’m in shock

So you don't think this team is better with Ayton than it is without? Even if he wasn't outplaying what Baynes is currently doing he is still miles better than what we have been getting from Kaminsky.

Get Ayton back and replace Saric or Kaminsky with even an average power forward (or, heck, replace Cam Johnson with Brandon Clarke), and this is a team that not only could make the playoffs but actually make some noise there.

Baynes should just shoot his free throws from three point range. Unreal how good he is at the top of the arc three.

Disagree... Ayton WILL be the second best player... not today though. Baynes is the better all-around player right now. FWIW, I love Ayton!
Let’s not become a prisoner of the moment.

Baynes is a career role player with a 5.5 ppg average. He’s done a great job holding down the fort in Ayton’s absence and has pretty much exceeded his own talent level in these past 6 games. Baynes didn’t reinvent himself at the age of 33. As much as I like Baynes, I wonder if/when a regression to the mean happens during this hot stretch.

Oh, I don’t expect Baynes to be doing this come January.... But I think it’s fair to suggest that, today/right now, he is a better option than Ayton. That doesn’t mean he should still start when Deandre comes back. Ayton needs to start and play big mins in order for his development individually and with the team. But Baynes is contributing in ways that are producing W’s, and in ways that Deandre wouldn’t have...

As far as Ayton vs. Baynes goes, I think people are missing a very important point- it's not Ayton OR Baynes, it's Ayton AND Baynes. Baynes can hit the three, and Ayton can guard the perimeter. They CAN play together, and the Suns can pretty much have one of them on the floor at all times. Let's not get carried away here- Baynes is playing absolutely great, but Ayton is a huge weapon for this team. He is good for 15-20 points and 8-12 boards every single night.

I still want to thank pat Beverly. Book was still trying to find his way in the offense until the clips game where he pissed off booker.

Hes looked like himself since then

And there was hand in the back call against Booker where the player flopped tonight.

Still Booker was great all night but when he gets angry he is extra good.

True. Gonna be very interesting to see how Monty deals with this when Deandre comes back.
But don’t miss the fact that beyond the points and boards, Baynes does so many other things that contribute to wins (picks, assists, blocks), that you expect from a savvy veteran. Deandre isn’t there... YET!

If anybody wants to know why players flop so much, it's because of calls like that one. Garbage call

Yup. Players don't flop unless the referees call it.

Oh no doubt that Baynes does many things better than Ayton. Baynes is probably the toughest guy in the league, he sets amazing screens, he shoots the three, he plays great team and individual defense.

Suns won when Saric (5) and Kaminsky (3) didn't produce much.

Bridges (2-3) was quietly efficient with 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. He also played excellent defense.

Both Ayton and Baynes have enough offensive versatility and defensive presence to play the 4 or 5. Once Ayton comes back, they have a lot more options about how they want to play, and can switch around to gain the best matchups.
Saric and Kaminsky may not be world beaters but they are a heck of a second team front court. With Bridges and Oubre minding the 3 or switching into the 4 to play small hustle ball for a stretch, the team can mix things up like we haven't seen since the good old days. So exciting.
