refs obviously affects games
but still, the Suns are supposed to be a contender, technically, they shot the ball reasonably well, made 3s, made FTs. Within averages.
Against a team like the 76ers, Suns, by expectations and by statistic percentages should be in control of the game with a quarter to go. And should be holding on to a lead with 2 minutes to go, as opposed to catching up from a 15+ deficit.. this run can be attributed to the 76ers being complacent and the Suns playing to their capability.
What the difference is... as past games have shown and has been much more apparent recently..
is that the Suns simply do not play NBA level defense these days, they have one of the best offenses but a below average defense will always take away the advantage and then some.
I'm afraid, Marion's absense does take a lot away from defense... more so than expected.
Amare still doesnt play it... Shaq can only be a wall these days and not a stopper.... Bell has regressed both ends a lot.... barbos quickest non-defense playing player..... Nash more so worse in that end too...
Hill is the best defender but isnt as versatile or long as Marion nor as young.
Diaw played well before Shaq came, now back t mediocreness due to the coach being totally one dimensional....
anymore reasons as to why the Suns won't make it pass round 1? or maybe a chance to finish 6th/7th/8th...
or even miss out on the playoffs.
and for the person who said pace slows down in the playoffs... doesnt matter... teams in the west can run... they'll just raise the tempo to get shaq out... then adjust back to slow..... basically they control the tempo now (atleast 5 teams i can count) with the Suns following them.
