So they are basically beating us with our own game...

Yes! We've become a half court team, even before we got Shaq. We have been getting beat at our own game. Other teams are shooting earlier in the shot clock than us. We've been shooting a lot more with the clock winding down. We have suddenly got really slow, when we used to be burning teams off the court.

OK, I'm going to beat a dead horse, but this first quarter has been about our weak transistion defense. It's all transition defense. We are losing all these games because teams are getting easy baskets off the transition on us. Amare and Shaq aren't in there right now so we can't blame them. None of our guys are consistently getting back on defense. If we can fix this, this is basically the reason we are losing games. It's all effort. I can't see us playing like that in the play offs.

It seems like opponents are getting easy baseline dunks in halfcourt sets as well.
