Why would they give up on a five-year investment for such a marginal improvement?
I don't agree with the premise that Flacoo to Manning is "marginal improvement." Flacco isn't going to be able to out tom brady Tom Brady. Manning could.

The Ravens don't need someone to pass for 5000 yards. They need Alshon Jeffrey and a kicker who knows what down it is.

You don't tear up your franchise's plan because Billy Cundiff missed a chip shot. The kicker makes that and Flacco is playing Sunday.

He did "out brady" Tom Brady.

Hardly his fault a wideout dropped a pass that would have sealed the playoff win or that a kicker blew a chip shot to go to overtime.

Only if he won in OT.

In a game where Brady admitted that he stunk. Flacco at his best can't touch Brady at his best. Manning can and I think that was the point.

I'll credit the Ravens "D" for Brady not being at his best, and unless the Pats "D" improves, Flacco will be in position to win head-to-head games in seasons to come. Doubt very much that the Ravens will do anything but add weapons to Flacco's arsenal this off-season.

I'm trying not to be a homer and looking at this situation with an unbiased opinion but i honestly see Arizona as one of the top fits for him. Since we'd also have Skelton as a backup and future QB it kills 2 birds with 1 stone.

Heard Kurt Warner on the radio and he was of the opinion that one of Peyton's key criteria will be a solid offensive line. He said that as an older QB with health concerns, a good offensive line would be very important.
Makes you wonder if he might have hung around another year if the Cards had a better line.

So, as we all know Peyton thinks he can play this year and noone expects him to stay in indy. I have widdled his options down to two teams but I want to see your opinions.

My considerations for free agent manning:
Wants a competitive team, no time for rebuilding.
Prefers a dome and better QB weather.
Needs a quality WR core.
Avoiding the NFC East to not play Eli twice-3 times a year. Prefers AFC in general.

Teams:
Dallas Cowboys - Romo love, dont see it at all.
Buffalo Bills - Could use manning, has potential but cold as hell and no roof.
New York Giants - Not a chance
Miami Dolphins - A seemingly good destination. All home games are good weather even without a dome. A lot of away games are cold rough weather but Manning is used to that. Miami is a slim chance however - I think they are going for Flynn.
Philadelphia Eagles - Not competing with Eli
New England Patriots - No chance
Washington Redskins - Seen some reporters name washington as a destination. I would buy it if the redskins had a shot at a championship any time soon. No go.
New York Jets - Jets get a lot of hype for Manning. I dont see him fitting there and dont see manning wanting to deal with the weather. They are an AFC team so they have that and both mannings in NY would be huge for them and theyr marketing $$.
Atlanta Falcons - they like their QB but I suppose they could go after Manning
Houston Texans - Shaub is solid as a starter, dont see them going for broke and benching a quality QB.
Carolina Panthers - CAM
Indianapolis Colts - May keep manning, highly doubt it.
New Orleans Saints - Breezy
Jacksonville Jaguars - Jaguars are rebuilding, not a contender for Manning
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - I feel this could be a likely destination. Great weather and more but somewhat rebuilding and unpredictable of a team.
Tennessee Titans - I could see this as a possible landing place for Manning also. Low on the list though.
Chicago Bears - Too cold and windy for Manning, good D horrid recievers.
Baltimore Ravens - Flaccos job.
Detroit Lions - Staffords Job.
Cincinnati Bengals - Daltons job.
Green Bay Packers - Nope.
Cleveland Browns - Not good enough,.
Minnesota Vikings - Very possible destination. Solid D, decent WRs, good line, great RB. Expect Minnesota to be in play big time.
Pittsburgh Steelers - Nah

Arizona Cardinals - Obviously a major target team for manning. Elite WR, Great D considering last half of season. Expecting improvement the following year. Two good RBs. Line is the only question here. Dome team with in division Dome opponents. Not AFC but good chance for success. QB friendly system.

Denver Broncos - Also a good destination. Solid D, good line and running game. Decent reciever options. Cold stadium, AFC.
San Francisco 49ers - I see them keeping Alex smith.
Kansas City Chiefs - Stick w Cassel
Seattle Seahawks - Possible destination but open dome and cold/windy/rainy often.
Oakland Raiders - No chance
St. Louis Rams - Bradford
San Diego Chargers - Rivers

I wanted to keep going but I need to get to work.

My destination summary:
#1 Arizona and Minnesota
#2 Denver, Seattle, Tennessee, NYJ

What do you think?

bump

I'm good.
