He didn't sign a five year deal on the second day of free agency to be a backup. He just started the entire season for a team that was 13-3! Why in the hell would he pounce on a backup gig?

I guess I'm just hoping.

Snyder graded out as the 6th worst guard in pass protection last year. He also graded out as the worst tackle in pass protection from 2008-2010. I have trouble trusting that he'll be an upgrade over Hadnot.

The Whiners will hate anyone they just lost.

I get the impression that he is an average guard and a terrible tackle. Since we will likely have him at guard, this is a decent signing, yet nothing to be excited about.

Just wait til he gets in Grimm's system! He'll be an elite...

(oh crap)

I imagine Snyder's signing means three things and possibly four:

1). DD gave his endorsement having matched up with him twice last year.

2). Rex Hadnot will probably be released.

3). The Cardinals will not be drafting David DeCastro---which may be a moot point if he goes earlier than #13.

4). The quickness of the signing may be a message to PM that we are making moves to protect him....especially if the team signs a tackle in the next 24 hours.

Wasn't Richard Marshall rated the "worst in the league" last offseason? Now if we lose him the board is gonna freak out.

Of the three guys we brought in today, Snyder was the one I wanted the least. I'm fine with him as a depth guy playing at guard and maybe filling in at RT in a pinch but that's it. As a starter, even at RG, I'm not liking it that much.

We should have T-shirts printed. That is a recurring theme for Cards in the FA period, I think.

Why do the Cards like to bring in players who are among the worst at their position? :(

Meanwhile, we continue to have the worst OT combination in the league, and there's not even a close second.

Agree with all points. Especially #4.

Snyder is terrible. It's like this team didn't learn it's lesson last year with Colledge. Good teams don't let good linemen go unless they run a very specific scheme. Green Bay couldn't be happier to see Colledge go last offseason, and San Fran is cool with Leonard Davis over Snyder.

I give up as far as our offensive line is concerned. The Cardinals obviously do not have a clue in regards to the level of talent it takes to play on the offensive line in this day and age. You can't do down to the local tavern and pick up 5 nasty lugs and trot them out on the field on Sunday like the Skins did with the Hogs. You need premier players in this day and age because they have to be able to block the freaks of nature on the d line like Wilfork, Peppers, and Pierre-Paul.

Hopefully they sign him as a swing linemen because having to watch him get dominated for the next 5 years will be tough enough, and even worse if I have to watch DeCastro buy a house in Hawaii because of the 7 Pro Bowls he will play in with some other team.

It's nice to know we have guys on here who are so much more attuned to our needs than our whole coaching staff.:sarcasm:

They've proven to be geniuses with the offensive line, both in the draft and FA.

+1

One of the few offensive lineman worse than Levi Brown in pass protect.

Per footballfocus at least.

Wouldn't he be entitled to that criticism based on the Oline play of the last, oh 100 years?
